Just noting no BIAB 2019 (yet) First person to see it reply and that will be the unoffical "date/time release time hack" Larry

Well according to PG main page, Band-in-a-Box® 2018 is here! (or should here be replaced by Nearly Gone) You better hold your horses until Saturday coming some time I think. You going to upgrade straight away or wait for a few weeks until all the bugs have been sorted out?

You going to upgrade straight away or wait for a few weeks until all the bugs have been sorted out? Knowing some people will wait, I like to order right away and try to get everything downloaded and installed ASAP. They always post patches, so there is no compelling reason to wait

Ah was surprised to see that post Pat since I remember from reading older threads you were one of the testers, or was that a few years ago?

Ah was surprised to see that post Pat since I remember from reading older threads you were one of the testers, or was that a few years ago? Man, you have a good memory! I wish I did! I have to break out my driver's license when somebody asks for my middle name! I was a tester for about 2 or 3 years, but I was really bad at it (never found a single bug. No wait... I did find ONE once) and felt guilty about taking the spot from somebody who might actually add value. So I relinquished the spot. There are users who push the limits, and they make the best beta testers. I'm a guy who does the same ol' things in the same ol' way all the time, and that approach to using software isn't what finds problems. I really enjoy both programs and I have no problem paying the nominal amount it takes to update every year...

Awww selling yourself short there Pat I think, since you are a dab hand at Muvizu. Loved the stuff that you did. Bought it myself and don't think I got round to making one animation I visit the site now and again but not 100% certain if everything is back to normal with it. Anyways for now its biab 2019 we are all looking forward to. Hope we get a few surprises.

I don't remember Pat's contribution that way. He is meticulous and was very helpful to the community. Of course, he won't remember (grin).

OK, if we're going all out here... who can find the first post last year announcing the new release? That way we'll have a date... (not that past performance is any indication of future performance, but its a fun way to kill time while we wait)

last years release was a few minutes before Pats catch at 11/28/17 11:49 AM EST.
So they are late this year.

hah! Using JohnJohnJohn's approach as a search string (good idea j^3) I found the release date of BIAB 2017 (Dec 1, 2016... so Musiclover might be onto something! Let's hope so, since Dec 1 is right around the corner!) https://www.pgmusic.com/forums/ubbthreads.php?ubb=showflat&Number=378833&Searchpage=2&Main=54365&Words=https%3Awww.pgmusic.combbwin.htm&Search=true#Post378833 (you might have to copy-paste into the browser) apparently the filename for the main BIAB page never changes... no matter what the year might be, it is always named https://www.pgmusic.com/bbwin.htm so if you make an advanced search for that string, and confine the range of the search to newer than X years, but older than Xyears-1month, you should see any posts from late Nov-Early Dec with that link embedded. Like the announcement.

version 2016 also arrived on Dec 1 (2015) and Floyd Jane was the one to see it first!

(cut & paste into browser)
I think Dec 1st is looking like the day...

what if they throw us a curve by releasing BIAB 2019 the day BEFORE Dec 1?
We better stay vigilant. (Who has the night watch?)

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
