[Link no longer valid]

Done with the _LORIVER.STY (Low River Delta Songwriter Swing).

The solo is 1999:Pedal Steel, Soloist Country 12-8Paul Sw 065 [Soloist]

The humming is my own ;-)

All feedback, as usual, very, very welcome - thanks!

Hi James… I really enjoyed listening to this peaceful track on a quiet Sunday morning. I like your idea of using the humming as an instrument… I think it fits perfectly with the tone and style you creating.

My only feedback would be I’m not sure that you needed the slide guitar section, maybe just a simple restatement of the main theme as a little break. Thanks for sharing a very peaceful piece of work!

Thank you so much Tano Music!!! You obviously know your music in depth and you are also really kind to give specific feedback, so every word you say is valued. The only reason I added the slide guitar section is because I thought people might benefit from a slight break from the dubious quality of my humming, haha ... and thought that a bridge section without it may work. I don't know what other alternatives I have for that (I'm worried about restating the main theme with the humming ... maybe restating it somehow without the humming may work ... maybe in A flat major, the key of the bridge passage - or, in any case, a key other than the C major of the rest of the song, so as to give the listener a genuine break from the usual? - I have to think about it, haha, as another reason for that bridge passage was the wish for variety ... we'll see!!!), but ... I'll give it another listen and see what I can come up with. I'm really glad you enjoyed it, though, and thanks again for such genuinely honest, constructive, expert and genuinely useful feedback!!! It really is appreciated!

I liked very much the subtle chord changes. And your humming voice. In-between breathing was a little too noticeable for me.

Thanks everybody so much once more. Marty, yes, my breathing is way too noticeable, I totally agree. Trouble is, I record these things in one take at home ... far from ideal and certainly far from studio quality, etc. Maybe I need to learn how to better use Audacity to remove breathing, etc., from the final product - that much I won't gainsay :-) ... so it's not really an excuse for it all, more of an explanation (without excuses) as to why it is so. But yes, to excuse or explain something is not to alter it - so the point is and remains valid - there IS too much breathing on the end product, so I'll see what I can do about it!

THANKS everyone, every word of your kind comments is truly valued.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
