Its been about a week waiting for my BIAB 2019 to arrive. My question is why they have to wait a week after the release publication to start shipping these. Surely there could be better planning in this department to have a bunch made up knowing there would be a big demand. Yes I know you have the option to download from day one of release, but I think the hard drives should have also been available. Am I missing something???? Still waiting. I don't think PG Music had to wait that long to receive the money from my credit card. Frustrated !!! Apology if it has already shipped but I have had no notification email that it has only the purchase email

Nelson, suggest you contact PG Music through Live Chat or telephone (numbers above). They can probably check the status with a tracking number.

Nelson,

If you ordered the Audiophile edition of the software, historically that has nearly always taken a little extra time to get up and running.

Regards,
Noel

Thanks Noel it wasn't the Audiophile edition, it was an Ultra pack on a USB hard drive. They know way ahead of time that people will be ordering these and there should have been several sitting on the shelves waiting to be shipped as soon as the order is received. IMHO this should have happened before the program was released. PG music is not a start up company and should know better. Sorry, I am just in a pissed off mood

I think it's because beta testing finished and the product was announced the day after. They probably need to send the disks with all the current software to whoever copies their disks for them. And it's not like the copying process (or whatever replication they do) is any faster than the external USB disk supports. I imagine it probably takes 30-45 minutes per disk (times however many they've sold). Of course, in the interim, I would think that your software should also be available for download from your PGMusic account.

Yes John it is available as a download but I didn't want to do that. All I'm saying is PG Music should have had these available on day one thats all. I ordered it, paid them the money and it should have shipped the next day. Is that really too much to ask from a company

I am always willing to complain where I think it is warranted but in this area I think PGM does a really good job! As John explained they finished the beta and announced it immediately and then had all the files available for immediate download.

Would we rather they delay the announcement and downloads to wait for the hard drives to be ready? I think not. And if you do prefer that you could wait to place your order until the drives are shipping...usually in a week or so.

And regarding the comment about the money being taken from your credit card, I chose the delayed payment option so they are not even charging me a dime until January and then have broken the payments into several months without interest. That is a mighty nice deal!

Sorry I did realize there was a delay option in regards to a credit card. You learn something every day. No I would't want them to delay the release but I still think they should have had these hard drives ready. If they say it's available it should be although in the advertisement they just say by download, hard drive or USB stick. I assume that to mean when you place an order they should be available.

Sorry in all the years I have bought Band in a box and that was from the beginning, this year is the worst I can remember for shipping or having these hard drives available. These drives should have been ready on day one period. There is no excuse for this as they always release this product near the beginning of Dec most years so they knew it was coming.

airtcon, I, too, was expecting my Biab 2019 UltraPak + at least by today (express shipping). So I chatted earlier with support and they are not being shipped until, maybe, next week as mentioned above. I ordered 2017 BiaB exactly 2 years ago and had it the next day. I'm disappointed as well. I'm downloading now and didn't want to do it that way but c'est la vie.

After next week, many of our front porches will be unmanned as we divert for the holidays. Just sayin'...

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
