I installed B in a B and Real Band 2019 a couple of days ago. I'm having a problem in Real Band when I try to load a new Drum Style. Whatever I do, the error is 'Cannot load drum style because this folder does not exist'. But I can play the Demo no problem at all before loading. Also, if I check in bb Drums folder, the folder and files are all there!
In Band in a Box, there is no problem with this. It simply loads the drums.
When you state you can not load a drum style do you in fact mean you can not load a RealDrums that you are selecting or that you are having trouble getting a style to load in 2019 RealBand.
Assuming you mean you are attempting to load a RealDrums selection, are you using the RealDrums selection tool? If so, please share how the checkboxes at the top of the window (marked in red in the screenshot below) are set.
In Real Band it's both Style and Real Drums that will not load because folder is not found.
If I open RB and start a NEW song. I input a few chords. I then choose a Style using the Style Picker. When I load the Style and Generate, everything is OK except for no drums (because the folder is not found).
If I then choose to Select & Generate new drums, the drum folder is again not found. I'm choosing in the same general BPM.
As far as the boxes that are ticked. Mine are the same as in your screenshot. Bottom 3 of 4 are checked.
I have reinstalled BB 2019 4 times now. Also, reinstalled the Mega Pak and 0PAK. I did a BB Cleanup.
It seems to be every Style. But I will go through the process now and you can see if you can duplicate it.
OK. Load SGU song Blues Jam # 01 Sample BEEBROCK into RB. Song loads OK except window stating Drum Folder Not Found.
I see this is a MIDI Song so will now load a different (wav) song.
Load SGU song BOSSA w/Piano. Same result... No Drums.
So I'll try and choose to Select & Generate Real Drums for this song. Select DannyBePopBrushes. Same 190 BPM. In Real Drums Picker, no problem with drums - they sound great! So select and once again, Folder does not exist.
I've made no changes to any defaults in the BB 2019 Installation so if I'm the only one with this problem, I can't understand it. Hopefully you can duplicate the problem.
Use your Windows File Explorer to verify the RealDrums are located inside the correct location sub folder.
The RealDrums folders are nested under the Drums sub folder under the parent Band-in-a-Box folder. By default this is C:\bb\Drums. See the example below where 1) is the drive, 2) is the Band-in-a-Box parent folder and 3) is the Drums sub folder.
IN RB, you can check the path being used for the RealDrums using Options-Preferences-Song Generation .. the RealDrums *may* be pointed to the wrong folder here.
I know you looked in your BB/Drums folder already, but if this drive letter setting changed (or RB has it wrong) it would have the effect you described. Just a thought
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
Yes, exactly same on my computer. I have only installed B in a B and RB using default locations.
Drum folder is in bb on C: drive.
There is a Text Doc in this folder titled 'AboutDrumsFolder'. Clicking on this shows text as follows...This folder is used to store the RealDrums files.
If this folder is empty, either you haven't installed any RealDrums, or you are using a Drums folder location outside of the bb folder (i.e. different from the default Drums folder location).
If you are using a different location for your RealDrums files, you need to specify it in the RealDrums Preferences dialog in Band-in-a-Box.
And the Drums Folder is not empty. It contains 7,465 Files, 2,794 Folders
So this looks perfectly OK and probably not the problem.
OMG!!! I've worked out what the problem is! Audio was set to MME and not ASIO for ALL!! That's what it was.
I'm sorry I caused you all this work. But I can say, I am VERY Pleased with the fast response of everyone to try and help. I'm sure you all know how frustrating it can be when a program doesn't seem to be working properly.
Now I can get back to my music. Trying to get 2 song arrangements done so I can enter them into Song Contests.
Yes, I know. It's weird alright. But if you select MME you should see the same problem crop up - no drum files exist. But after switching back to ASIO - everything working perfectly!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
