Today marks the start of another 5 songs in 5 days songwriting challenge. I just finished mixing my first song of the week. The prompt was to choose at least 5 words from a list of 10 given and use them in a song. (I'll leave the list below) I chose moonlight, first, dance, sleeping and dreaming from the list and came up with this country tune.

RealTracks 1191:Bass, Electric, Northern Rock 625:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Rascal 875:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Northern Rock Fuzzy 878:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm Northern Rock Gritty 2883:Peddal Steel, Background, Country Eddy 1839:Piano, Acoustic, Rhythm Pop Modern Groove Real Drums=Rock Northern
I used the direct input option for bass and electric guitars. Once exported to Cubase I ran them through Amplitube using a clean tone so it wouldn't be as harsh as the original processing in BIAB. I also removed all the reverb from the tracks before exporting and used a new convolution reverb (QuantumVerb) with IR settings to give everything more realistic live sounding reverb. I used Izotope Neutron on all the instrumental tracks, Nectar on the vocal and Ozone on the Master.
Lyrics: Some things you never forget. Like your first dance Holding her hand Late night kisses in the moonlight Falling in love for the first time. Holding her tight while she’s sleeping And wondering what she’s dreaming Those thing I’ll never forget.
Some things you never forget Like your first kiss The feel of her lips Pressed against yours. And how it left you wanting some more. Sneaking out late just to see her And making up plans for the future Those things I’ll never forget Those things I’ll never forget.
But for the life of me I can’t remember What ever happened to our forever. The love that we had was so strong. Where did it all go wrong?
Some things you never forget Like her eyes The way that they shined Looking in mine in the moment Making the world go silent All of the good times we had together Believing our love would last forever Those things I’ll never forget
(spoken) It’s funny how the bad times all seem to slip away. But those good times… Those things I’ll never forget.

Interesting challenge from which you`ve made a solid song with a good chorus hook. Impressive sound on the production for the time constraints. I always like your vocals- clear and upfront.

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
