Hello there! I'm back after a relaxing cruise trip and wanted to post my Christmas contribution for this year. Not sure if I'll post anything else before years' end. Here's my instrumental version of Oh Little Town of Bethlehem. It's a Samba jazz style totally changed, all midi and put together in RB and a lot of post production, (about 12 tracks altogether). Oh, "cubanpete"... Oh, man, I am about to use a word that I thought I had committed to never, ever use when attempting to describe the pleasure I experience when I listen to an artist's music, but right about now, I don't know any other words that could express my excitement over your composition, "Oh, Little Town", so I'm going to call it...brilliant  !!! The way you re-imagined the chord structure, the tempo, the choice of a hotly percussive "samba" style to crank-up the novelty of your "take" on the traditional song...it's just cool as cool can be, and and as "down" as all get-out, man!!! I wish I had posted this. Take your bow, "cubanpete". You came up with something off-the-hook original on an original, and that's some kind of accomplishment. As of this post, you're one "bad-[*****]" musician, sir!!! I'll bet Chick Corea would dig having a chance at cracking this Christmas nut. Seriously, speechlessly impressed, LOREN

Samba rhythm is a very fun.

Outstanding! I'll have to put this in my permanent Christmas listening library!
For some reason, jazz and Christmas music go together so well...not sure why, maybe Vince Guaraldi is the source of that.
Your choice of matching this particular carol with this particular style is genius...did you have this match-up in mind while you were cruising? I can see that!
