I can't see PG Music Home » Forums » PG Music Product Forums » Band-in-a-Box Plugin for Windows » so will post here. I hope this issue will be fixed soon but here's a solution to sync play the generated track/s without having to import them all to preview. This will sync play/loop all the tracks in a SavedTracks folder, you just need to drag the current folder into Winamp C:\bb\BBPlugin\SavedTracks\
VWBvst.dll is a VST plugin that goes in your vstplugins folder. gen_VWB.dll is a Winamp plugin that goes in your Winamp plugins folder. Start Winamp > Preferences > Plugins > General Purpose > VST->WinAmp Bridge. Configure selected plugin. Load VWBvst.dll into a track. Drag the current SavedTracks folder into WinAmp, double click the RealTrack you want to playback in sync. Press Play in the DAW from start or any bar or select a section to loop (yes it will loop while BBVST keeps playing forward forever). You can set it to loop and double click another track in WinAmp. It won't sync MultiRiffs if you have bars selected as this will just put a 1 bar pad (empty audio) in front so it will play out of sync unless you have the full track MultiRiff (but I get an out of range error if I generate more than 1 MultiRiff). It should pass all audio to the vst or you can configure WinAmp audio out Preferences > Plugins > Output > Direct Sound Output.
**This method was sending too early I found EDIT: another option if it's not sending audio to the DAW http://www.mywinamp.com/winamp-vst-plugin/ install > Preferences > Plugins > DSP Effects > Configure > load reastream-standalone.dll (32bit) set it to send audio local broadcast. https://www.reaper.fm/reaplugs/ get 32bit and 64bit ! Load reastream-standalone.dll (64bit in 64 DAW) Identifier should be any name but same as the sending ReaStream. Turn the volume down on WinAmp if it is sending audio to another device as well.
Thanks for the tip, got a recent PM from PG 'bout the (64bit) BIAB plugin; they're working hard on a new version. So i work the old fashioned way for now, call me lazy, hoping the new one comes out soon ... F
I always seem to have to make up workarounds for functions in Biab that don't work but should. It's like the vst sync issue of Biab and RealBand where it just kept looping on bar 1, this took years and years of nagging to fix so users could user VSTi's like EZDrummer 2 that play in sync to the host. If I did not nag for all those years WE would not now have vst sync. Is this a normal thing now that I have to nag n nag, still no lessons have been learned ?? Maybe I should have another Poll "Should Pipeline continue nagging or give up ?" Do we need to go through the same amount of years for the current BiabVST sync issues to be addressed ??????
Unfortunately you have discovered the one real serious flaw in an otherwise excellent program. RB does not work with plugins like EZDrummer or my Jamstix or any other plugin that can create their own parts. I don't know the details but it's something to do with VST implementation.
Quote:
The requests for PG to implement VST fully have now been ongoing for the past 4-5 years. PG are clearly not interested in improving this feature for customers - so Jamstix, EZDrummer and many other VST's do not function properly - if you want to save many hours of frustration just buy another sequencer.
I've finally become convinced it ain't happenin. I was the first to report this 3-4 years ago, went into great detail about it, went back and forth with support, posted Ralph's (Rayzoon) replies to my emails and Peter said a couple of times he was aware of the problem and was working on it. During one of the Beta's maybe two years ago Jeff also said he was working on it but not a peep since. I'm not dumping on them, they're wizards at fixing things like this. I think it simply can't be fixed in RB for whatever reason. ....

Nagging is fun at least my wife seems to think ....

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
