Hi, all!

I´m new here, and this is my first post! I hope I post this in the right forum!

I wonder if someone here could help me out with a bandinabox issue?

To make a long story short, I previously had a collaboration with a person who had bandinabox. We do not have this collaboration any more, but I would like to finish the song I was working on.

What I need is only the midi piano sound, and I remember the chords and the bpm. The song was in 160 pbm, the cords were E-major, A-major, D-major and F#-minor. The Mido loop we used was "New Orleans - Mardi Gras". This should be a swing setting!

If someone would be so kind to program his/her bandinabox this way, and mute all instruments but the piano and save it to midi, I would be very grateful!

And perhaps record, let´s say 10 bars of E-major, 10 bars of A-major, 10 bars of D-major and 10 bars of F#-minor!

The idea with recording 10 bars is that I noticed the piano played many different variations on the same theme, which would be nice to try out. I only need the midi!

I work on a pc, but I don´t suppose that matters?

If anyone feel up to this task, please e-mail me on

barry.04@hpotmail.com

Many thanks in advance/

This is an unusual request. That may be why no one is jumping in to help. Or it could be that Piano loops are generally prevalent on the web so it would not really be necessary to get them from BIAB in this manner.

Nevertheless, perhaps if you confirm you are a real person who is asking a simple favor it would remove some of the "web suspicion" some may be having.

And by the way, welcome to the forum. grin

Hi,

Thanks for your reply! I didn´t realize this was an unusual request, but I suppose all of you have BIAB?

Well, I would also have BIAB, but I can´t afford it right now. This is not the first time I´ve had some really good help from BIAB. Last time it was a bass-line that I used.

But, the person I had a collaboration with is pretty busy with other stuff, and I really don´t want to press him for help.

And, yes I´m as real as can be... been doing my hobby music for 40 years now, started with recording my music on cassette tape, then moved on to Fostex x-15 (4-track cassette), then I bought a Fostex R-8 (8-track reel to reel), then a Roland 1680 (16-track digital work station) until I discovered Mixcraft in 2012.
After that I´ve only been working on my computer, although I prefer analouge equipment all days of the week...

I don´t know what more to say than, that this is an honest request, but I´´m fine if nobody can help,it´s perfectally ok!

I have recorded my own midi piano (took lessons for a few years when I was 10-13 years old, but I never really got the hang of it. Guitar is my main instrument).

What I really would like to do is hire someone to play, but circumstances does not allow that...

I have put this request on the Swedish BIAB site as well, but there doesn´t seem to be much traffic. Also I have put this question on Mixcrafts forum, but no luck so far!

Hope this clarify things a bit!

Best regards/
Sukram

Hi, again!

Thanks for your reply! Although I can´t find any mail in my inbox, neither here nor on my e-mail! Strange! Did you refer to my inbox here on this site? I´m not sure if I have located where my inbox is really, I will take a closer look now!

No, the only PM I´ve got is the welcome message from the webmaster!

Hi Sukram. If you have an audio copy of the song available, it is easy to recreate a BIAB file that matches the key signature, tempo, feel, and the chords of the song allowing you to add, delete, change instruments, BIAB Styles or otherwise modify your song anyway you desire. Any new BIAB generated song will follow a tempo map and chord progression created from the audio file generated by your friends BIAB software. WAV, AIff, Wma, MP4, etc will be adequate. If you post a copy of the song somewhere it can be accessed and downloaded, it takes just a few minutes to create a new BIAB project of your song. Or, alternately, have your friend take a second and email you the original BIAB file and make that available.

Hi, again!

I´m making one last attempt at this before calling it a day... If anyone wants to help, please download the two files posted below, I will only keep them up for a couple of days.

The background is this: I used to have a musical collaboration with someone who used BIAB. We do not have any collaboration any longer. But before our collaboration ended we tried a piano track to one of my half finished song, and I thought it would be very interesting to test that piano track.

The piano track was from "Mardi Gras in New Orleans by Professor Longhair" and it suited my tune nicely.

I am now wondering if anyone who have access to this midi piano, would be interested in helping me? I would think it wouldn´t take more than 10-15 minutes to download the midi piano track and send to me.

The tune I´m working on is a kind of a cod version of Little Feet. I´m by no means an accomplished musician, so it is what it is.

The song is far from finished, and I will probably change things around a bit, there´s no vocals a.s.o.

What you get is hardly two minutes of music, and it stops right after the slide solo.

The song is in 80 bpm, and the cord sequence is as follows:
A A E A
A A E A
A A E A
A A E A
D A D F# E

It would be nice if I could get some variations of the rhythm piano, as I noticed when we tried it out that the piano had a few different variations on the same chord.

Please send a midi file so I can change it around a bit if I want to!

If anyone would be so kind to help, It would be much appreciated.

I post two links below, link one is with my own cave-man like rhythm piano, and link two without any piano.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
