Hi Ya'll Happy New Year!!!

I think I've finally found what I was looking for in this song! I was able to touch many of the background strings that were hard to hear and brought them up enough to give the song purpose. I added more width to the overall production to hold the listener's attention.

Works for me...finally! =D

Give it a listen if you have a minute...

All the best and none of the rest,

Dave

Mr. Brooks...

"Elegiac" is the word I would employ to describe the emotional impact of your composition, "New England Fall". It summons sound-pictures of our Mother Nature closing her autumnal eyes almost imperceptibly as she dreams her way into winter dormancy.

The piano melody falls like thoughtful raindrops over the waving fields of your alternately surging, and then retreating string orchestra. Did you perform that part?

This is a brooding, impassioned composition, Mr. Brooks, as quiescent as the seasonal change it seems to describe. It has a timeless, shimmering beauty to it that evokes spiritual contemplation. Very, very different from your rock song posts. Frankly, I'm startled by the feel and form of it.

I have listened to it so many times that I feel I can't get enough of it. I sure hope that I hear more of this kind of thing from you in this New Year.

Greatly moved and impressed,

LOREN

Hey LOREN! Happy New Year!

OK...Who do I have to kill for such a wonderful critique? I must go back and see who composed this thing! =D

I performed the piano part by trying not to perform a piano part. By waiting for the feeling of the strings. This gave me the "when" to compliment the strings. The "pull back" (editing the mix) allowed the piano to stand out almost alone.

Thanks again for listening!
Dave

Hi Dave,

I have been listening many times to this composition and you already know that I find it absolutely wonderful.

I honestly think that this version sounds like the final version - now it is a finalized, integrated piece of music that I think is ready to be published for a broader audience.

Very well done!
Will

Hi Will,

I've had several other people tell me the same thing. I'm putting the album together now... a lot of final mixing and such. I've chosen 11 songs to do this.

In the next few months, I'll be busy "shopping" this album to all sorts of venues.

I want to thank you for your support of my creations. I hope you have a few goodies because I'll be tuning in to all my supporters soon!!!

All the best,
Dave

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
