Those wonderful Canucks have sent 300-400 pizzas to our TSA agents who remained on the job without pay during this shutdown at our common border.

They may talk funny but they have always been there for us in times of trouble.

Thank you Canada!

I didn’t read that; thanks.

It is a very generous gesture. All of my interactions with Canadians have revealed them to be kind, gentle and generous people.

Matt,

Some years back while attending a religious convention in Vancouver, BC, a family in Port Coquitlam, BC opened their beautiful home to us having never met us, a family of 6, including 4 young children, on the strength of our religion's reputation for honesty.

We stayed four days through the convention and they absolutely refused any payment. That experience had an indelible affect on us.

They are, indeed, a generous people.

Yes, that generosity has also been in the press here. Great job Canada.

I've been to Canada many times, and it my opinion that the Canadians are some of the nicest and most civilized people on the planet.

In addition to that, we gig every year at a few places where the Canadians come to spend the winter, and the Canadians do know how to enjoy music and party.

I could move to Canada if it didn't get so darn cold in the winter.

Thanks Canadians for being such nice neighbors.

I reckon it isn't too shabby up here, nice to hear other's opinions from the outside looking in smile And contrary to popular belief, not all of Canada is too cold. Where we are on the west coast, it's pretty mild. Even the coldest winter days seldom get below -2 Celcius. That's 28 Fahrenheit for the Americans reading. Of course, that doesn't apply to other places in Canada. I've been in Alberta when it's -35 Celcius, or -31 Fahrenheit. That wasn't very fun.

Lloyd S here. We appreciate the kind words from everyone.
I'm Canadian and proud of it.
But I think I belong to the "mutual admiration society" on this one.
As much as I love Canada, since retirement some years ago,
we have been spending our winters in sunny Arizona.

The people here are (excuse the pun) warm and friendly.
In spite of the hoards of Canadians that invade them every fall,
they welcome us if we actually belonged here.

So a big 'tip o' the hat' to the people of the USA
for sharing what they enjoy, with us, especially the weather.

THANK YOU!

Our two countries are like loving siblings. We will have out arguments but in the end we are still family.

I live fairly close to the Canadian border and have visited Canada many times. There never has been a problem during those visits as the Canadians are warm and friendly also, even in the winter!

I think that I am a Canadian born in the USA. I think your football is a lot more exciting than ours and I am a huge hockey fan.

Being an American (Minnesotan) born of Canadian parents, I frequently exercise poetic license and tease Canadians mercilessly. For example: In paying for a pizza and a round of 'Blue' brew, the waitress took two yellow and one red and gave me a purple in change.

Now, our currency is colour-coded (Canuck spelling) too. The term 'greenbacks' is out of vogue.

I was the "young draw" in The Arrowhead Trio +2, a Standards band, and we played N. Minnesota up to the Canadian border. Let me tell you, those wonderful Canadian lumberjacks and Jills know how to have a great time!

Have you hugged a Canuck yet today, aye?

Excellent analogy, dear friend.

We have plenty of destructive negativity to contend with in our lives. I prefer to seek out and emphasize the positive things in life as you do also.

I am honored and privileged to call you 'friend'.

Deryk, for me, -2C is "too cold for man or beast".

Anything under 21C (70F) is cold for a guy who was reared in South Florida.

I've been to Canada many times - in the summer - New Brunswick, Nova Scotia, Newfoundland, Labrador, Quebec, Ontario and Yukon and found the Canadians to be very warm, polite, friendly and civilized. That's why I keep coming back.

I gig at resorts in Florida where many Canadians come to escape the cold weather. I appreciate their choosing us, and always try to return the favor by welcoming them here and trying to make their stay pleasant.

I've noticed even the Canadian border guards are friendly. I visited Canada with my wife two vacations ago (Niagara Falls, Montreal and Quebec City) and when the border guard asked me why I was visiting Canada I said, "We are musicians and we play music for Canadians every winter. We thought we should bring some of your money back." A warm smile, a chuckle, and a welcome to Canada was the response.

Yes, those Canadian border guards are very friendly. I crossed the border one time wearing a Buffalo Sabres shirt and the border guard ask if I was going to Toronto to see a real hockey team!

Well said, Bob.

Port Coquitlam is near Vancouver and we visited friends there frequently. It's a gorgeous area and the scenic drive up and back is simply spectacular especially in Autumn when trees change colours. I've forgotten the name of the drive but it is well worth checking oot if you're ever in the Nort'west!

Mario,

On one occasion while crossing into BC, we noticed a chartreuse VW Microbus with a large group of 'flower children' standing around in the inspection lane. The RCMP even had the headliner upholstery pulled down looking for marijuana. When we came back a few hours later, the Microbus was still there minus the hippies.

My friend, Bob Rivers, Seattle DJ, tells about borrowing a friend's van to pickup a keyboard in Vancouver. The friend was a pot-smoker and the van wreaked of marijuana. The 'sniffer' dogs were instantly alerted and the border guards were certain that they had gotten a 'live one.' Bob spent the morning trying to convince the RCMP. LOL

The moral: Be sure that you know your friends habits before borrowing their van.

Don, if you ever or hear from Bob Rivers tell him I was a big fan of his Twisted Tunes! I know your son did a lot of CCR Twisted Tunes for him.

FYI,

Mario, quite by coincidence, Bob Rivers and I started a brand new collaboration yesterday so, if things jell, you'll be able to thank him personally. We will definitely be posting to the User Showcase. You two have a lot in common. He's a great keyboardist loves the Blues. He recently moved to Vermont so it's feasible that you two could meet and jam together.

He will dub piano over my rhythm bed. His piano playing can be heard on a few of Junior's Twisted Tunes parodies. I didn't realize that until we chatted yesterday.

Bob uses and teaches BIAB in his Radio Broadcasting Course which he plans to renew in VT. He will be a great asset to these forums. He is also trying to reconnect me with Zimmerman. He is very well 'plugged in' to the music biz. You can be sure that I will work him on that point. However, he forewarned that Bob Z is a functioning hermit, a recluse. Ah, the price of fame. He can't even walk around the black without being mobbed.

Stay tuned, dear friend. Give us about a month to get our ducks in a row.

Give my 'appropriate affection' to Linda.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
