Could somebody confirm this please?

1: Start a new song.
2: Choose CASTAWAY as the style.
3: Set the song to 4 bars.
4: Generate and play the song. There should be a clean intro.
5: Stop the song.
6: Generate and play the song again.

Does the organ now play through the intro and song?

(BiaB64 (614), MME, VST:VSTSynthFont64)

Hi Trev,

That's the MIDI style 'Castaway' I take it since the RT style is _CSTAWAY.

Yes, I get the same as you.

I've reported this or something similar to this to PG Music as a "sustained note that can only be cancelled using F12/Panic!".

Recently I was working on a song and while I was notation the melody, I kept getting a sustained sound. In the end, I switched to BIAB 32-bit as there were no problems here.

Regards,
Noel

Thanks Noel for checking it out. It's appreciated.

Yes, it's the MIDI version of the Style.

It appears to work OK with the 32 bit version but is repeatable with the 64 bit version (including the very latest) - organ plays during the count-in.

I'll report it. Hopefully it might get fixed.

Trev

You're welcome... Yes, BiaB64 (614), MME, VST:VSTSynthFont64... CASTAWAY midi style... Tried this on my Laptop only, and did not hear anything playing thru intro/count 1st or 2nd time generated & played... I am still having other playback issues with Realtrack syyles that have (multi)realdrums… but not the same issue you're hearing...

Thanks again. I found that it needed all three as indicated above to create the issue.
Coyote was OK
32 bit was OK

Although I also found that switching MME to WAS immediately started the organ without even pressing play cry

BiaB64 (615), MME, VST:VSTSynthFont64... CASTAWAY midi style - attempted with 4 bars and 2 bar ending first using blue markers, then green for 4 bars and blue ending then all blue markers followed by all green markers. No issues. Repeated with the 2 bar ending unchecked and no issues.

Thanks Charlie for checking. I didn't worry about part markers or special repeats. I just set the song to 4 bars and pressed generate. First time OK, but on the next and subsequent generates the organ played during the count-in.

My other surprise was that the moment I selected WAS the organ started playing while the song was stopped.

Strange

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
