As many of you here know, I'm part of a K9 search team with my dog Lilly.

Recently, Lilly and I have switched teams. Lets just say it's a huge improvement.

This new team..... Coastal Carolina Search Team was involved in around 12 searches last year and we've already been on one this month. The last one, just last week, made the evening news the other day. We had 11 team members and our trailing and HRD K9's on site and searching for a missing boy. 3 year old Casey Hathaway had gone missing. Temps in the 20s and rain.... he was found alive on the 3rd day not more than a quarter mile from where he disappeared.

This is what we do. We do it so that others may live, and to bring a certain kind of closure to the families of those who don't survive. We also work at the request of law enforcement.

We are all unpaid volunteers who take time off from family, friends, and work, to train and search. Our team is a certified non-profit. We're doing a fund raiser to cover our operating and training costs. PM me or visit the link I post, if you're on facebook and would like to know how you can help us. The Facebook link has a pic of my dog in the woods.

Thanks for a minute of your time..... and if you're on FB... find me and send me a friend request.

Herb & Lilly the K9.

BTW: I've been on this new team only a few months and have been on 2 high profile searches ( both made the national news )

Herb,

I greatly admire those who freely give their time to help others in desperate situations.

Is their any non-Facebook place to make a donation? I don't have Facebook membership.

Regards,
Noel

I was happy he was found alive, especially with the weather/temps outside those nights.

Thank you for your service. I'm sure his family is eternally grateful as well. It was an amazing outcome.

Music Trax: You are correct. The first night he was missing had temps in the mid 20's. Then it rained. Not just a drizzle, but a downpour. Over 2" during the second night and following day. Casey was wearing a light jacket. I was called in on Thursday with my HRD dog. When we get the call it's because they do not expect the person they're looking for to be alive. It had become a search and recovery. I don't know if you believe in God, and miracles, but I do, and that's what this was.

Notes Norton: These are some of the most selfless, dedicated, people you will ever meet. It's a privilege to be a small part of what they do.

These incidents usually don't end well. This is the feel good story of 2019. Congratulations to you and your team. Outstanding job.

You are correct Bob. At our last team meeting, they reviewed the year 2018 and the dozen or so searches the team had been on. 2018 was not a good year because every search either turned up never finding the person we were looking for or finding them deceased. It's always good to find them alive.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
