Take Me Home
This song has a splash of snarkiness and a dash of romance. Maybe I should title it "Flippant Introvert in Love." wink I consider this track a throwaway song, but my 13-year-old daughter likes it, so I recorded it.

Lyrics:

People come from miles just to tell me I’m pretty
Dress me like a queen, drag me off to the city
But I don’t want to know their lies
And I don’t want to hear their cries

‘Cause I just want to know you
I just want to grow old with you
I think I told you
Take me home

There’s a man on the street and he wants my money
There’s a man on TV and he thinks he’s funny
Maybe it’s the other way around
Take the next exit. I don’t want to be found

‘Cause I just want to know you
I just want to grow old with you
I think I told you
Take me home

You know my dreams always die
And I’m alone left to lie
Awake reviving you

Whenever I hold you, my heart starts raging
While everyone around me seems to be aging
Whenever I kiss you, the world stands still
Whenever I promise, you know I will

‘Cause I just want to know you
I just want to grow old with you
I think I told you
Take me home

I definitely get that hint of snark and romance from this song. Thanks for taking the time to post it so we can listen. I think Flippant Introvert in Love is a good alternate title! grin Made me chuckle.

Thanks, Ember.

I should probably add to my description that the song is not gender specific. I originally was writing as a female persona, but then realized the song works both ways, and is a bit more humorous with a male voice.

Catchy pop - I can see why it would appeal to your teen daughter ( though the sound is from another era).
Good clear vocal. I like the way you brought in the solo acoustic guitar.
Throw away? How often has that been the comment from writers of some of the biggest hits in music... plus the approval of a family member on your creations is always to be cherished!

This is a pretty good sounding track for a "throwaway song"...
Your 13 year old fan must have heard the same merits the rest of us in your fan club hear...
Nice lyrics, great vocal, & production... I enjoyed it.

I don't understand why this song should be a "throwaway" - it's a very nice and pleasant sounding song.

Can only speak for myself, but I am glad that you decided to share it with us!

The song has an infectious late 60's-70's pop vibe to me. I'm loving it. Enjoyed my listen.

Whatever you do, don't throw this away.

The melody has a great hook, the vocals are just so easy to listen to, and lyrically, this is so well written.

The voice-overs give richness and depth.

A superb production.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
