I found this new style in the 2019-version: _Doomed and wanted to try it out. Was intrigued by the Cello meet heavy rock. It's a bit like the beauty meet the beast...

There Is A Cello In My Soup

I included a soloist too from RT3232.

Will,

The cello slays . . . pretty listen throughout. The opening didn’t quite kill for me. The drum really overpowered the bass, which should’ve shined a bit more, IMHO. But it was all fine listening from there . . . and then some! Good stuff!

All the best,

Deej

Wow - this is really refreshing, and an interesting tune in general, let alone the showcase here. The title did make me smile - but the song itself is no joke! I would have never thought to combine elements of these types of music. But it works flawlessly here.

Thanks for sharing smile

Cool one, Will.

The Metal RTs are under utilized (here on the forum, at least) so it is nice to hear someone using them...

Good mix. (I like loud drums smile )

Love the title! This is delightfully unique. There is nothing better than a head-banging cello solo.

Hi Deej and Kenny,

I thank you both for listening. You might have a point about the drums - I will consider a remix if I ever become a pro-member of Soundcloud (cannot replace songs in the moment as a non-paying member).

I appreciate that you both took time to listen and commenting!

Thank you, Floyd!

Haha.. and now I am confused about those drums... are they too loud or not?

Thank you for listening!

Hi Deryk,

I appreciate that you took time to listen and thanks for the nice comments.

It is actually you - the good people from PGMusic - who got the idea to combine these types of music through your making of the style _Doomed. I just utilized your idea. smile

Interesting arrangement.
personally I'd like MORE kick drum - particularly in the intro (which is a bit long and lacks something to focus on - like a cello - to be honest).
The rhythm guitars are a bit fizz given the rounder sounds of everything else including the solo guitars.
Cool stuff notwithstanding my minor quibbles.

Cheers

Hi Will,

smile smile smile smile SOOOOO GOOD !!!! You must be on vacation, Will, because you're coming up with great and very original, witty and most surprising stuff almost on a weekly basis.

This one is funny, but also musically great - the exact opposite of boring!

And the title alone deserves 5 stars.

I can only repeat: I like what you're doing !!!

All the best,

Stefan

Thanks a lot for listening, rayc!

It's very good, constructive and useful critique and it is all things I will take into consideration if I ever make a new mix of this track.

Hi Stefan,

Oh, how I wish I was on a vacation now, but I'm actually as busy as ever at my work. I just find making music to be a nice way of relaxing when I have a little spare time.

I signed up for this FAWM-thing that I read about on this forum, but there is no way I will manage to create 14 songs in February... just way too busy at work.

Thanks for listening and your nice comments!

Will,

It is a very nice idea.
I think that cello and rock band are rarely played together like this tune as actual performance, but it surely will attract the audience if it is realized.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Yeah, I would vote for more cellos or other string instruments at rock concerts. Diversity is great!

Hi Noel,

Like Shigeki mentioned, it is seldom that we hear a cello in a rock band... as seldom as finding a cello in your soup. smile

Thank you for listening. As always I feel blessed when experienced musicians like you

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
