Hi everybody,

all clear: no weird stuff in this one cool cool cool...

It’s just a love song I wrote for Maha in 2008 and brought to life in late 2016, thus it’s the fifth song arranged with Band-in-a-box / RealBand and the fifth video produced with Camtasia.

And for Maha it was the fifth mixing job using RealBand, too.

The original video was a rather private one, more or less a slide show of pictures taken from our photo album, but later I turned it into a public version by replacing our pix by some beautiful romantic scenes hijacked from a lovely couple’s’ video (with a Creative Commons license, of course).

As you will see, I then - unlike in my recent videos - still added almost no own video material, but made ‘generously’ use of third party video clips.

The song is just as little spectacular as the vid - it’s rather a mainstream thing - I hope you will nevertheless enjoy listening and watching.

Thanks for taking the time to check it out.

Cheers,

Stefan

AUDIO (with lyrics)

AUDIO (on Soundcloud)

And here’s the ‘band’:

Style is _JFMOVIN.STY (Jazz Funk Movin')

RealTracks in style: 1768:Bass, Electric, JazzFunkMovin Ev16 130
RealTracks in style: 1772:Piano, Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkMovin Ev16 130
RealTracks in style: 1770:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkMovinChords Ev16 130
RealTracks in style: 1771:Guitar, Electric, Rhythm JazzFunkMovinMuted Ev16 130

I replaced the original RealDrums in style (JazzFunkMovin^) by my own drum track (via MT-Power Drums)

And I added a B3 organ: RT673:

Horns arrangement written using the RB PianoRoll and brought to life by BigFish's Vintage Horns (via Kontakt 5)

Guitar Solo: me

Really well done, Stefan!

Great arrangement and production, and I really like the vocals and harmonies too.

Not to mention the guitar solo, I like your playing style.

This is really extraordinary.

So well produced, great driving feel throughout, and all accompanied by a fantastic set of lyrics and outstanding vocal delivery.

Loved it from start to finish.

Stefan,

I agree with the above comments. This is really well done.

A good love-song write - uptempo love songs are not easy to "get right" - and you've done that!

Super vocals and harmonies. Excellent horns!! A REALLY good mix (kudos the Maha). Nice guitar work.

All around good. Your best, I think... (so far).

Nice work on this! Really, really catchy and I love how to implemented the MIDI horns. Some top notch harmonies to boot, and you got a hit! I thought the production sounded professional and concise as well.

You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing smile

Hi Stefan,

Can I borrow Maha, so she can mix my stuff? She is a real talent!
As are you! Wonderful song, well composed and arranged with your usual great guitar playing.

Very well done! I totally enjoyed listening to this!

Stefan,
you wrote for Maha and made her mix? What is this? It is like inviting a girl on a date and make her buy her own flowers? smile

Great job on this! Everything is superb from vocals to arrangement to mixing.

P.S. You took a romantic break and that is fine. Back to fun & weird stuff!

Thank you for sharing!

Misha.

Hi Brian,

thanks a lot for listening and watching. And of course for your very kind words. As far as guitar playing is concerned: The 'faster' days are history - now it's Old Snailhand trying hard not to muddle up the strings...

Thanks again for the compliments.

Hello Floyd,

thanks a lot for taking the time to watch and listen. I'm really flattered by what you commented, and, of course, I immediately told Maha (who unfortunately is still in the hospital) that you emphasized that she did a great job. I think that it will help her a bit to get well again...

Well, being a member of this great forum I think we all
agree on this motto: 'The best is yet to come'. Whatever, I'll do my very best...

All the best,

Stefan

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
