Hello Tommy,

thank you so much for your lovely words and compliments. I passed "nailed the mix" to maha, who's still in hospital, and it really made her smile big.

Thanks for taking the time to watch and listen.

All the best,

Stefan

Did you use a harmonizer for the backing vocal fx ?.

Hi beatmaster,

thank you very much for your kind words, I really appreciate them a lot.

As to your question: No, no harmonizer - every single note was squeezed out of those old and frayed vocal cords. But I have to admit that I had to slightly pitch correct two or three (OK, four or five...) notes of the middle part using the respective RealBand feature.

Cheers,

Stefan

As are you! Wonderful song, well composed and arranged with your usual great guitar playing.

Very well done! I totally enjoyed listening to this!

Will

Hi Will,

I will ask Maha (who's still in hospital) if she would like to be borrowed... But you always do great mixing jobs yourself, so there's no real need, actually !!!!

Thank you so much for your very nice and friendly comment on this song which even means more to me as I know that you really have notion of music!

Have a nice weekend and all the best up north,

Stefan

Great job on this! Everything is superb from vocals to arrangement to mixing.

P.S. You took a romantic break and that is fine. Back to fun & weird stuff!

Thank you for sharing!

Misha.

Well, Misha, it's not quite like you said: I had written the song so long ago, and after Maha, ten years later, was still sure that my lover's oath hadn't been just jabber, she decided that I might be worth the mixing effort smile

Or you might regard it as sort of a payback thing...

Thanks a lot for your positive and kind comment on the song that apparently was taken care of by my Dr Jeckyll side wanting to start the year on a romantic note. But don't you be afraid: Mr Hyde is already peepng around the corner, carrying a big bag full of fun and weirtd stuff cool

Have a pleasant weekend.

Stefan

Hi Stefan,

Overall impression
Congratulations Stefan on a slick and agreeable track
Mix / Production
everything is clear, audible and in its place
Instrumentation
Cool horns if sometimes a touch intrusive
Cool organ sound
well played gtr solo
Vocals
nicely balanced between the lead and harmony parts
sung with conviction!
What I really liked
slick and agreeable track with an upbeat feel
the chord structure in verse
What you might like to return to
It might be an idea to check your lyrics out with a native English speaker pre-recording (you’ll avoid clunky lines like “can make the wrongest things right »
The drum track sounded a little too busy for my taste
Perhaps too long – there was a choice to be made between either the gtr solo or the horns interlude

Firstly, we hope Maha is improving!

One word comes to mind listening to his tune...classy!

The vocals, the "old snail hand" guitar, the arrangement, back tracks and the mix are all, as Gegg Allman says, hittin' the note. Everything is in the pocket and result sounds excellent on the KRK's. It presents a very nice soundstage.

The video was lovely and we can also envision a B&W video with a set like you would have seen with Frank or Dean or Sammy.

Misha said "you wrote for Maha and made her mix? What is this? It is like inviting a girl on a date and make her buy her own flowers?" hahahha We like the flowers she bought!

Most excellent!

Dear Janice, dear Bud,

like always your comment is so kind - thanks a lot for the nice things you wrote.

And, of course, thanks a lot for your good wishes for Maha - I will come back to this issue in a PM. But despite of all problems she was so glad when she heard that you had thought of her and that you liked her 'flowers'.

All the very best, and thank you so much for everything,

Stefan

This is refreshingly original. As always, your vocals are good and cause one to listen closely to the whole production. Very peppy!

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
