This is an excellent tutorial on MIDI. Comparing MIDI to sheet music and the buffer to water flow are great analogies.

This is a must view for MIDI beginners.

{edit} You might want to add this to the tips forum. It would be good info to have pinned there.

Another great find Jim. You often come up with gems.

One thing he did not mention as to why converting MIDI files to audio that is that it takes a lot of the load off your computer. (That seems to be missed by a lot of folk having play back issues.)

Wow - I definitely am going to bookmark this. Very informative indeed, and I liked how he broke down music notation at about the 4:50 mark. Thanks for sharing!
