I love reggae music, so wanted to try to produce a track in that style. It's not in the style of Bob Marley, but still I tried to capture the laid back Jamaican living style (with a modern twist to the sounds). Build it layer by layer... I think it sounds quite good on headphones or if you have good speakers.

Let me know what you experts think!

I was impressed by this mesmerizing composition when I listened to it yesterday or the day before when it popped up on my Watchlist...
However I can't remember if I commented...
Good job!

Some very cool sounds. I do like the way you layered it. The song took on different shapes and feel as the song progressed. Very cool

Will,
Soundcloud popped up a lovely message to say they couldn't play the track now & for me to try again later. I will.

Cheers

Hi rayc, It sometimes happens when they update their software. Very seldom though. But thank you for trying!

I appreciate that you took time to listen to this, Belladonna. Yes, it is a bit different from "normal" reggae... I guess that is just me.. I like to experiment with music.

Thanks again,
Will

Very relaxing track to listen to, interesting reggae with some dub and horns that remind me of tijuna brass bands.

Nice work, Will! Love the reggae inspired vibes on this one. It's really modern sounding, and definitely a unique piece. A fine example of Band-in-a-Box's diverse capabilities. It got my toe tapping in no time.

Thanks for sharing smile

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Hi Will,

I'm always amazed at your versatility - your a real daredevil when it comes to reaching new musical shores.

I have to admit that I'm no big Reggae fan, but this is another great thing you're coming up with - so different yet so familiar. Great economic usage of the instruments (which, I think, is far more difficult than pulling out all the stops).

Your posts always add a lot of yummy spice to the forum!

Kind regards,

Stefan

Great melody on top of a cool rhythm Will! Great blend of sounds here! Mesmerizing is the key word I think! Thanks, Torrey

Hi Kenny, Janne, Deryk, David, Stefan, Torrey and Joe,

So sorry for this rude way of answering all of your kind messages in one take, but I'm sick these days (nothing serious) - and I lack the energy to write a message for each of you (or do anything else for that matter).

Please know that I appreciate your kind comments a lot!

Will be back when I am fresh again!

Will,

The minimalism of this piece really works. Nicely done.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
