I have installed M-audios, win 7, 64 bit driver for the 410, and it works as far as I can get windows sounds from the PC but no sound when I connect my guitar to the line input?? I thought I made an upgrade buying my new PC but I guess not!!!

Depends on what you came from. If you came from Vista, make sure the input device is set to the M-Audio, it probably won't be. If you came from XP, then the Audio control panel/mixer takes a bit of getting used to.

Finally, open the Mixer panel for the M-Audio and make sure that the inputs are showing level for the input you've selected.

And, of course, the absolute last thing that I can suggest is, it's Firewire, does your new computer have the correct chip set to support Firewire Audio (which is why I hate Firewire).

I came from vista, but I can't find any mixer window in win 7 for my M-audio 410. It maybe that the routing should be changed but how do I do that when the mixer window isn't to be found? I can hear the sound from biab so I guess that the FW functions. I can also see that I get sound from my guitar into the 410 (the clip led goes red) but I can't hear the guitar in my headphones ??

strat.
most sound devices come with a user control panel.
read your manual on the 410.
look for an icon that was installed on the task bar prolly.
make sure the icon isnt hidden.

Win7 is a little tricky
go to control panel - sounds - and see what is available in the audio input (recording) section.

I had to use a 'levels' tab to nav to the soundcard settings..

Make your sound your own!
.. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

I do as Rharv says! And hear I can see that input 1/2 output 1/2 is selected. And to the right I see a bargraph which is working. So somehow sound comes into the box, I just can't hear it ?? I hear everything else though?? The 410 had mixer application software for XP but this is no good for win 7??

I'm still somewhat pleased. I had sound from my guitar through the system and went to bed! Now, checking again, I notice a long delay on the sound from my guitar (don't think the m-audio 410 has built-in delay???) The sound from Realband through the Firewire is NOT delayed??? Hope you have a solution on this one also:-S

Rharv, or someone else! I have sound (when I strum my guitar) through my M-audio box but only a delayed echoing sound. No direct sound?? I have no echo/delay unit in my signal chain??? Who can explain this ?? Where does this multiple echo come from?

Some tampering with my audio settings in Realband removed the delay :-) Think it disappeared when I turned asio on ??

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
