So many great answers! And I'm glad that this thread has turned in to a place for folks to ultimately share some of their favorite musicians with one another!
Cheers, Ember

1. Everly Brothers (Nashville's "A" team) 2. Roy Orbison (Nashville's "A" team) 3. Beach Boys (LA's "Wrecking Crew") No I would not get tired of these. I'm continually surprised by their artistry and awestruck by the arrangements and backing musicians. I love harmony, so I guess the Everlys and the Beach Boys are obvious choices. I love songs (especially tunes). Each of these artists chose (or wrote) great songs. They were the kind of artists where the "B" side of a record was often as good as the "A" side. All are members of the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame; the Everly Brothers were one of the 10 original inductees. Orbison and the Everlys were dear friends, and the Roy Orbison that people remember today likely wouldn't have happened without the Everlys. (Their paths crossed 3 times, with huge consequences for each.) Here's a live clip of the Everlys singing with the Beach Boys in Hawaii! https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6E0lRlXq3tc

Come on! Where are the fans of our one and only mr. Neil Young? Not so many artist are that good in composing, playing the acoustic and electric guitar like hell. Not to mention his singing and harmonica playing. He's a true reference for so many musicians all around the globe and he's doing that for decades! I just can't find the right expression to describe my enthousiasm, so I'll write down some silly words: Check Him Out!

For me Steely Dan fits So does Yes & Bowie So does Talking Heads And even King Crimson/Belew/Bruford Too many to list, and the answer will differ for every one of us. I appreciate Neil Young, as I appreciate Glen Campbell and many others But my faves just tend to run a little different than some. About 10 years ago I came up with the thought of 'Who would I pay money to spend time with?' This tended to prioritize in a whole new way. First one on the list was Bowie .. I missed him obviously Strange as it may sound, my current favorite would be Adrian Belew. He's played with everyone from Zappa to Bowie to Talking Heads to Crimson. He'd be fun to sit down with, judging by his personal YT videos. (like his workout videos on the road) Just to joke around and jam and learn. Wonder how much he gets a night .. I don't need the whole band <grin>
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome

Now I seriously start thinking about it, I also noticed that my choice changed a little over the years. Must have been 45 years ago, when I only listened to Johnny Cash, Johnny Cash and Johnny Cash. You know: The Tennessee Three! My Mom never complained when I spend my last money on another new album. Nor did she complained, when I played them loud, cause she sang 'em all, word for word, together with me. Yes, like it used to be, right in the kitchen. Good old times! Later I started collecting The Seldom Scene, The Newgrass Revival, The Nitty Gritty Dirtband, John Prine, you name it.
I like something completely different what I wanna hear at my own funeral: Jim Hall & Red Mitchel - Blue Dove. A live recording in a small jazzclub. Woooow, that's the ultramostbeautiful arrangement I can imagine of just two fabulous musicians, jamming on just a folksong with a simple melody.
The really strangest thing is, that I've been listening to someone for more than 45 years on and on, day after day and I don't even like him at all. But I just keep on doing it. And it's horrible. Brrrr. To myself.....

I like to listen and watch videos of so many artists in so many different genres it would be way too many to list. My latest binge has been Fleetwood Mac with Stevie and Lindsey.

I grew up on rock n roll and loved all the classic rockers. The Doors, Led Zeppelin, The Eagles, Jackson Browne, etc.
I did not like country music back then until I heard Linda Ronstadt do Patsy Cline, Hank Williams, etc. Today my latest favorite country singer is Miranda Lambert, love her style and her every day song lyrics.
Also love the southern rock blues Allman Band.

Another vote for Roy Orbison. Elvis called Roy the greatest male vocalist he had ever heard.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option
Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!
Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
