Hello, forum friends

Several years ago, I produced an original CD album which title is “Escargot” with 10 songs for our local vocalist, Natsuki Yoshikawa.
This song is the last song of the album and written with full orchestration.
The lyrics were written by Hazuki Morino, a female lyricist belonging to our local lyricist group named "Escargot" with deep interaction with the music circle I belong to.
Our music circle is constantly making a lot of works jointly with the group “Escargot”.
Any comments encouraged.
Always welcome.

Best regards.

Shigeki Adachi

Title: 幸せの構図 (Translation: Composition of Happiness)

Vocal: Natsuki Yoshikawa, our local female jazz vocalist

Link:
https://soundcloud.com/animarorecords/0go5nd3ajhox

Style is HRPORK44.STY (MIDI)
Bass (49) assigned to Contrabasses,
Strings (50) assigned to 4 French Horns,

Style is alberti.STY (MIDI)
Acoustic Piano (1) assigned to Concert Piano,

Additional instruments (1st violins, 2nd violins, Violas, Cellos, Oboe, English horn, Bassoon & Harp) scored by me.
All instruments played with EastWest symphonic orchestra except Concert Piano played with Steingberg The Grand.

Summary of lyrics:

We suddenly stop in a forest path
Filled with the melody of the wind
And the sun shines are pouring through the trees

We smile with each other bashfully
And I pray you will stay with me forever and gaze at me continuously

When we are sad and our eyes are filled with tears
Let’s remember our brilliance of today
And let's light up our hearts with it

Even if we have no words to speak
I believe we are still looking at the same landscape

We smile with each other bashfully
And I pray you will stay with me forever and gaze at me continuously

When I'm tired and my heart becomes tattered
Please pour your dreams plentifully and fill my heart enough

The small path in the summer is shining white
And surely lasting to tomorrow
We will keep drawing our happiness with several ways

A beautiful & well-done production...
It reminded me of the cinema song classics done in this country...
I enjoyed listening.
BTW... have you completely recovered from your unfortunate accident?

Hi Shigeki,

What a wonderful piece of music. The arrangement and orchestration is just spot on. It sounds like a soundtrack for a movie or a game - it is one of the best compositions I have heard in this forum!

You did very, very well on this track - as did Natsuki Yoshikawa (really nice sounding voice)!

Outstanding, production Shigeki. What a beautiful singer. LOVE the orchestration on this, it sounds so real and natural. I could listen to Natsuki for hours. Any chance of you recording song of the seashore ? It's a beautiful old Japanese lullabye and I know it'd go down a storm on here

It almost reads like a collection of haiku.
The Japanese vocal leaves a similarly elegant impression and the orchestration adds broad brush stokes of ink to damp silk.
Well done.

Shigeki,

This is absolutely beautiful. Your music always transports me to such a peaceful place. This is sublime. Great work by everyone.

I saw the comment about "what should we call this"--is it really J-Pop, etc.

I often do custom labels on my stuff because I cannot find a genre that fits me.

To me, I would call this "Orchestral Pop Ballad" or "Orchestral Pop" where some of your stuff is "Orchestral Jazz." It is very unique. That is just me though. I am not you. You should call it what you want!!

I'm not sure why, but for some reason in my head I connected this to Disney animated films (which I love, btw), it somehow seemed to be a good fit smile

p.s. I've said many words many times about the quality and artistry of your work already (all of which obviously apply here too), so instead I went straight for the conceptual for a change.

Thank goodness words aren't knives.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
