Woman Of Perfection Guess what, this song got its inspiration from my dream In that dream I played the chorus of this song with acoustic guitar to a member of a girl band at a railway station. Probably she was going to travel to fame on global market and leaving me behind. Original lyrics were in Finnish and had references to local towns and places from my life, I thought that it would be difficult to translate, but I wanted to give it a try. Chorus was easier and I had it ready for a quite while ago, finally I changed references to better known places on the local scale, maybe some personal touch was lost, but hopefully the story is now more suitable for international audience In the original Finnish version, I had a guest vocalist. For my version I had to transpose down by 2 half steps. Thus, the guitar solo had to be re-worked. I tried with multiriff but it didn't provide satisfactory result, so I used Adobe Audition to transpose the original solo track, luckily it worked out well, I used re-generated part only for the last couple of bars (unfortunately multiriff didn't generate the ending properly so I had to use the real BIAB for that). RealDrums: NashvilleEven8^1 RealTracks: 1759:Bass, Electric, Pop16ths Ev 085 703:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Spirited Ev 085 1596:Guitar, Acoustic, Strumming Pop16ths Ev16 065 2718:Guitar, Nylon, Fingerpicking CountryBrent Ev 085 1902:Guitar, Acoustic, Background Bolero Ev 090 1856:Cello 2334:String Quartet Vocals by me Mixed in Cakewalk by BandLab Lyrics:
At Moomin World, after birding I bought you a doughnut, fresh made at the station I played guitar do you miss my serenade? You are my woman of perfection every key from C to B you are a polyglot London is your cup of tea. You are my woman of essentials you are water, oxygen but my habitat is too flat for a cosmopolitan. At McDonald's once in Helsinki on a tender winter Friday at a near pub a scrabble game as always you ran away. You are my woman... On an autumn walk in tranquil Lapland you smiled at my palindrome almost dating at the stadium still waiting beneath that dome. ------ Janne

Janne,
Some really nice music here... Great song and production / mix. Your vocal is a good fit for this style.
I really like the way you slowly built the arrangement and the inclusion of the strings toward the end - very nice.
Much enjoyed!

This song has a dreamy element to it that really suits the song -- and finding out that the chorus came from a dream I think makes it all make so much sense! Really great job. Thanks for sharing.

Hello Janne. This has a pretty melody. I wouldn't have minded hearing the original Finnish version. Over all good write and production. Rob

Janne, Interesting write, both lyrically and musically. Clever use of phrasing. Loved the opening line "At Moomin World, after birding" (My wife is a huge fan of T.Jansson*). Please share Finnish version if you have that recorded.
Thank you for posting.
Misha.

Thanks Joe for your kind comment I was seeking a warm guitar sound and I'm glad to hear that I was successful… or actually that BIAB had such good choices. Janne

I like that you started with the cello by itself for a few seconds before the other instruments came in. Nice effect. Beautiful chorus melody. Your instrumentation works well in this song. Refreshingly original lyrics.

Janne, Interesting write, both lyrically and musically. Clever use of phrasing. Loved the opening line "At Moomin World, after birding" (My wife is a huge fan of T.Jansson*). Please share Finnish version if you have that recorded. Thank you for posting. Misha. Thanks Misha for your kind comment And also big thanks for lyrical inspiration, you mentioned Moomin World in some earlier comment and it kind of pushed the translation forward - I thought that it would be cool to use that on the starting line, because there is at least one on this forum who knows the reference Link to the Finnish version is in the previous reply and also on this version's detail area in SoundCloud. Janne

Refreshingly original lyrics. Thanks Ezekiel's Storm for your kind feedback Now with the new BIAB VST I cannot remove one bar from the lead-in (the cursor in VST would show incorrectly), I have to fill that with something else, so I usually repeat couple of bars from the intro and this time I choose only the cello section. I'm glad it worked for you Janne
