Many of you know I love to use midi but for those of you who prefer Real Tracks, I have a treat... No midi on this one... BTW... I hope you assume the background source for this song is purely fictional but... For anyone who has been there, you may end up smiling in sympathy ... I hope you enjoy this one...
Chorus: Give me a second to catch my breath Give me a second to take a rest Give me a second I'll do my best To be ready to go Give me a second I need a break Give me a second that's all I'll take Give me a second for goodness sake I'll be ready to go
Verse 1: Life with you girl is like riding a whirlwind I never know what we're gonna do But I sure am glad I've got you for a girlfriend Cause life is much more fun when I'm with you
Chorus: Middle: 4 Bars
Verse 2: When I'm with you it's like driving a race car And I don't know how its gonna end Guess I'll hold on tight and hope I find the brakes for This young cow girl who takes me for a spin
Really like the intro—and the chorus is catchy, with a subtle but sweet harmony there. There something Beach Boy reminiscent about this one—an inviting listen. Nice job on this!
BTW, I don’t think I’ve ever used MIDI or even quite know what that is . . . but you did just fine with the Real Tracks.
Jim, Ahhh those real tracks! Very cool, clever and happy tune! Every time I listen to one of yours, it plays in my head for quite some time after I leave my computer alone
Jim, I like midi too I usually try to use a combination of Midi and Real tracks.
Another "catchy" tune Jim!! You seem to have a knack for coming up with a chorus that sticks with the listener for a while! The track sounds great! Thanks, Torrey
I listened to your song a couple of times and liked it more and more. In the beginning it felt a bit awkward, I think because of the midi, but that feeling quickly disappeared. And that pedal steel guitar is fitting nicely (untill now I never used this instrument, so maybe now?) The lyrics I liked the most. Basic and so sweet.
Nice work on this As others pointed out, it's delightfully catchy and a great throwback to a classic style you don't hear much any more. I really enjoyed my listen.

Thanks, Deej... I appreciate your comments & support... For me, Midi is great but it can have a steep learning curve for others.

Thanks, Misha... I thought of you as I made the comment about Midi Hope you know I always appreciate your comments & support!
Another good country singer, wish I could sing. The song gave me a laugh, I liked it and it did earworm me after a while. I felt there was something about the mix or production that didn't work well, it seemed quite lo-fi or something like that, but I got what you were after here and you did it well.

Loved that chorus. Very funny. I guess I hear it mostly as a country song, and in a bar setting that chorus is definitely sing-along-worthy. Great listen.

Thanks, Torrey... For the listen and your kind words

Nice day, Hans
Thanks, Hans... I’m glad you enjoyed the listen...
I don't know what caused the awkwardness at the beginning... There was no midi on this tune... I played the intro on my acoustic... But its nice to know a real acoustic guitar can sound like a midi steel string guitar.
This is a restful, very pleasant listen. I'm enjoying it.
I'm a fan of the AAAX rhyme scheme that you've used in the chorus. It's such an excellent asymmetric rhyme pattern. At the moment, I'm sitting here listening and typing and your song is bringing into my mind images of all that's good in life. Thank you heaps for that!

Thanks, Bob... For your listen, your comments, & your support... Like you & probably others, I have always been self-critical of my own singing abilities... I remember the expression & I think it applies to me... "I sing like I tune my guitar... Just close enough (to being in tune)"

Thanks for taking the time to listen & for your wonderful compliments.
Very enjoyable song Jim. Loved the harmonies. Really cool backtrack and vocal..
Thanks, Scott... I always appreciate your support & warm compliments... When will I get to hear another one of your compositions? I'm eagerly looking forward to it!

Thanks, Noel... For your continued compliments & support... I hadn't really considered the "AAAX rhyme scheme" before you mentioned it... I was just going with what the good Lord gave me

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
