Just landed a spot in a mostly dead band.
Looks like a bit of fun. Plenty of room for noodling around and trying odd harmonies.
My book of dead tunes is pretty small and I've got 1st guitar (jerry) part.
I've got plenty to assimilate a piece of his style while learning all the chord changes.
I guess I've got a bit of Bob Weir's job too on this one.
Great challenge but want to hold up my part in the group. Good people.

I'm Looking for any biab for Grateful Dead resources that might be out there.
I Did look at Notes Nortons #23 disk which has a few dead tunes on it
Looks like a great disk but not much overlap onto the tunes I've been given.
I've purchased Notes stuff in the past and have been very satisfied.
Wish he'd make a nothing but dead Book.

Anyway, I've got a couple of print books from early albums and an familiar with rukind site on line.
Just trying to jump start having to chart out 15-20 tunes all by my lonesome.

Some might opine its just laziness on my part.
I suppose I just want to get to the noodling part.

Thanks in advance

I think you might have more fun with a mostly live band grin sorry the devil made me do that frown

What I would do if I were in your shoes would be to DL some dead MIDI files like those found here:

https://freemidi.org/artist-506-grateful-dead

You could either bring them into BiaB and use them there and/or play along with them as is.

I found them by google/bing grateful dead midi. I found a number of sites.

Good luck

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.
Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

64 bit Win 10 Pro, the latest BiaB/RB, Roland Octa-Capture audio interface, a ton of software/hardware

Thanks for the midi idea. I had not thought of that.
I started checking them out.
I used the interpret chord changes in biab to get the basic chart.
From there I can tweak the changes, style, tempo, key, etc. pretty easily.

Definitely helps when I can find the tune I'm after

Some of the files I found are much like the rest of the internet, the quality of free stuff often varies.

But your advice was right on and helpful
I appreciate it.

Geeze.
