I don't know if this will generate much interest and maybe it's been done before, but I would love to see some pics of fellow community members home studio setup and environment you produce your music in. I have included a pic of my humble setup which includes a computer driven system (A Sweetwater Creation Station) running Studio One. My interface is by Digidesign. I used to run Pro Tools but switched over to the more user friendly (for me anyway) Presonus product. Also included are my Fender and Marshall amps that I like to mic. My sound absorption panels are home made from plans I found on the net. They work nicely! Looking forward to seeing what you folks use! Thanks

Nice Torrey! I found the original studio pics post from Guitarhacker in 2014:

We had a studio of sorts 20 years ago as pictured but now it consists of two mics, an iMac, small KRK monitors and a USB interface...that's it -- replaced everything analog in photo. Same room but a Bowflex occupies a lot of it along with the iMac, etc. The only real "studio" feel is the carpet...rest of the house has pine floors. Not shown is a file cabinet that has a quilted table runner hangin over the drawers. Janice sings into that. Nothing on the walls or ceiling. Just a workout, storage room and our “studio” smile

Thanks for posting J&B! Whatever you have in that room is working very well as it is evident in your recordings. Sometimes all one needs is some carpet and properly placed furniture! It's great to get a mental picture of you all working in that space! I have to have some " acoustic treatment" in my space because it's in a basement with a concrete floor and a rectangular room. The biggest benefit is that's very quiet down there even though a major highway is only about 100 yards away.

Joe, I don't have a lot of hardware involved in my setup. In addition to my digidesign interface and creation station computer I have a rack audio mixer a couple of power conditioners. and a CD player. Software has replaced a lot of hardware over the years. Other items pictured are a portable Korg 32 track digital recorder, Yamaha PSR S975 keyboard, a controller keyboard, the essential lava lamp and Charlie Brown who has been keeping an eye on me since the 1960's.

Here is an old picture of mine, back when I first set it up. It is much more messy now eek

Pretty much the same, except I have a few more albums up on the walls and I'm now running KRK Rokit monitors.

Work spaces always get messy eventually! It happens. I agree with Torrey Bliss; love the guitars on the wall!

Very cool! Indeed, software has definitely replaced the need for a lot of hardware.. That being said, I am still a sucker for routing things OTB. I've been eyeing up one of these to add to my rack: https://www.sweetwater.com/store/detail/TB12--warm-audio-tb12-tone-beast-microphone-preamp

My studio is called The Little Corner Studio.

There's a reason for that. We don't have room for a studio in our house. The only room we have I could have used has a closet with the furnace in it right off the bedroom. And it's right next to the family room as well where the TV is.

So the studio is literally in a corner of our bedroom, and everything but the Guitar fits behind that wooden screen when people come over to visit so our room looks decent.

It's a damned compact little studio. This is where all the "magic" happens :-)

Phil, it may be just a "corner of the room studio " but you have produced some really good sounding stuff out of that small space. Thanks for posting! T

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
