Hi All,

This is called [Link no longer valid]
Watching the day rise
The geese are flying high
The sound of the morning
And the far away cries

But I’m building my day
Piece by piece in your cup
Pouring coffee in the kitchen
And baby that’s what’s up

Running a shower
The heat is sounding rough
The mirror shows a bit of age
And it’s never warm enough

But I’m building my day
Piece by piece in your cup
Pouring coffee in the kitchen
And baby that’s what’s up

Counting on the shadows
The night is lifting off
The dark is just an orphan
And the hours are the cost

But I’m building my day
Piece by piece in your cup
Pouring coffee in the kitchen
And baby that’s what’s up

Bob, where do you get so many ideas from!! I wish the muse descended on me a little more!
You have a lovely way of evoking a scene with lyrics and this is no exception, and the backing/choice of instrumentation is just perfect. Thanks for the listen, very enjoyable!

An interesting write Bob....very reflective and meditative!! I think you've created the perfect band for this. Vocal hits the spot too! Nicely done!! Take care. Greg

This reminds me of "The First Time I Ever Saw Your Face", the Johnny Cash version. Beautiful, haunting, dark and simply wonderful. In its own way, a classic - I've bookmarked it to play it more times. Amazing job - I cannot underscore enough just what an achievement this song is - hats off to you.

Says what it says simply, yet profoundly. A fine morning song...not too chipper, like many of us that early. Very much enjoyed.

Coffee, nectar of the gods.

Cool tune, and nice track selection.

Bob you have such a great way with metaphors. Always love your lyrics especially "The mirror shows a bit of age". Another good song as usual.

Hi Bob,

I agree with Greg. You've got everything -- vocals, band, lyrics, melody, arrangement -- working together with terrific synergy.

A wonderful listen.

All the best,
Noel

Great intro, super vocal and outstanding lyrics, what else is there?

Your backing tracks really fit your mood and your vocals. All i can say is WOW!

This is really good!

Hey, I've got a coffee song too. Rather universal I suppose. I'm sipping some now.

Enjoyed this, Bob. You described the morning ritual well. I like how you added elements as the song progresses or wakes up, if you will. Good RT choices. Everything fits.
