It's Edit, Copy From / To. I have also had some trouble doing that with a tag. I generally do the Edit, Unfold and then do the copy. If you don't want to do it that way, make sure you have entered the number of the final chorus correctly, since it defaults to 1, and be sure to Un-check the box that says to copy the first chorus.
Also in general, I have found it is better to establish the form of the song before entering the melody if copying the melody will be involved and there is a tag. In other words, once you have entered a melody, including one in the tag, and then change the song form, unexpected things (displacement) can happen to the melody. Edit, Unfold eliminates any problems, as long as you do not exceed the 255 bar limit.

Hi, I thought I tried everything and was as frustrated as all of you, people. But no longer.
Moreover, the solution is so simple that I just can’t believe how stupid I was.
If you have 2 choruses and a tag that is the same as your intro or the first chorus, then you can copy the melody as such: choose copy from...to...— select the bars you want to copy (say: From 5 for the duration of 16 bars), —- copy to: bar number of your tag, but specify chorus number 2!
Just like the esteemed colleague in the answer above mine suggested.
This will do the trick.
Same if you have three choruses and end with a tag, then enter copy to bar number of start of the tag and chorus number 3!
So easy, and yet so stupid,
Hope you enjoy this little solution

I struggled w band in a box 2018 today, trying to copy the intro to the tag, or using the intro as a tag. Every single time the melody got lost or biab decided to adjust the number of bars in the chorus to include the tag.
I lost the battle to the quirks. One thing remains. Even though this issue has been raised since 2010, pgmusic keeps adding new features and keeps forgetting to straighten out some old issues.
So, how I worked around it: I opened pianoroll, ticked the “ghost” (!) box, which means you see the melody. I copied the melody from the intro and pasted it on the tag. Nothing bad happened. When the song enters the tag, I get the melody as intended. So, there is something terribly wrong with the copy...from...to command. Please, pgmusic people, correct this to avoid useless frustration. The copy from...to... just doesn’t cut it, since it only really works for the chorus part, which makes editing more difficult than it should!

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
