Hi Folks. Fresh spring flu clawed me a bit and I fell behind on my music things. But finally that is over. I had some time and finished a tune that I started before my little dance with with virus. Tune might feel like a political, but I assure you that was not the intention Because I started and finished it weeks apart, it might sound a bit weird. Critical comments are ALWAYS welcomed. Thank you for listening. Misha. Cabin Fever Dreams
Lyrics: He is circling muddy waters like hungry shark Chopping love in a bowl like a fresh garden salad Multiplying sorrows just to leave a mark polished name on a dusty ballot.. Deaf to hear a cry, weak to open window Like a broken record keep repeating.... As an ancient gladiator keep on wrestling this time Wrestling the time. You can be light bulb filament, deprived of sensation You can be slimy slug crawling slow in another dimension You can hit hard with might of sledge hammer Or you might find new rabbit holes in old dilemmas Drawing sketch of life, running out of happy paint Just some grey hues of morning remains on palette and that plain air color of dew... I am like lonely tree standing and waiting for you And you are jumping like caged baboon trying to get a piece of sugar moon diving deep in the slush of marshes getting warmth like mice in ashes Fly your dream as kite Before thunder brings the rain while you still can feel the pain while you still can fill the empty space in your heart with light. Things used: BIAB: Guitar: 380 Acoustic rhythm Guitar: 845 Guitar: 1571 Guitar: 896 12string Bass : 1769 Horn Section: 2347 Synths of Halion Sonic. Recorded and mixed on Cakewalk.

Misha, Fabulous - lots of variation in the backing and the textures are given space to breathe as well. The panning of voices was a nice touch - a bit of variety and shifting emphasis. You've become a master of the varied melody/structure of a final verse. I really enjoyed the new tune.

Hi Misha,
Wow... you've pulled out all stops with the production of this one. It's very, very impressive.
You captured my imagination at the start and never let it go until the very end... nice work!
Enjoyed it a lot.
All the best, Noel

Misha,
Very cool music.
Your lyrics are always interesting, colorful...
"running out of happy paint" - love that phrase!
The musical bed is just as colorful as the lyric. Very well mixed.
Your vocal in this is Outstnding! It has a really special quality to it - it seems almost 3-D - like a vocal hologram. Awesome.
Enjoyable music.

A very creative set of lyrics filled with unique images... I like them a lot... I also liked the treatment you gave your vocals... You certainly can write, mix, produce, & deliver a creative song that screams... You are listening to an original by Misha!

Misha,
This is great - sounds like it could be a long lost track from The Rocky Horror Picture Show.
Excellent arrangement, production and vocal.

Hi Misha, I honored your new song on Soundcloud. Above all I liked your 'kraft' (German for skills) for creating the kind of songs you regularly present us/me. This one has also very nice background vocals. I'm jealous. Tell me your secret... I only prefer somewhat louder lead vocals, but this is a very minor point.
You conquered the EQ-problems. Good job! Hans

You're very prolific and a great writer
This is a detailed and well produced song,
I don't know if it does it justice to comment after one listen.
In places it sounds like a love song to your favorite politician
and in others sharp observations of desperation.
Overall it's entertaining and holds my interest
well done,
Kenny

Ray, Thank you! That is the beauty to do music thing for fun, I can do whatever I want and not be worried of shoes or tomatoes flying at me on the stage ----- Noel, Thank you for listening and words of encouragement! ----- FJ, first of all thank you for kind words! Honestly, mix is not very good on this, but you nailed it with "hologram" comment. This was a first tune I tried recording using dual microphone technique. I read some articles about it over the time, but this was the first time I actually tried it. In essence, 2 different microphones were used. One for presence the other for ambiance. This is a big topic that I think is worth of discussion in "Recording" section in the future. --------- Jim, Thank you! You are too kind. We are lucky to have all this great technology available to us at relatively low cost, that gives us that extra boost in sound quality and time to try to be creative. -------- Bob, Thank you for giving this time and awesome feedback! ---------- Hans, Thank you for listening and your nice comments here and on sc! Thank you for pointing lead vocals level! I recorded vocals using 2 microphones. I think it makes a lot of sense. I will start a thread on "recording" section of the forum soon. I think it might be of interest to you too. "you conquered the EQ-problems"...ha ha I cheated. I think I used the whole spectrum. It is so dynamic that it almost sounds proper ---------- Kenny Thank you for listening and cool comment! "In places it sounds like a love song to your favorite politician" LOL!!!!!!! Man, that is funny! I wrote this trying to show a contrast of wicked human nature, not a love song to "dear leaders" Misha.

Loved the extra production on the vocals. You are nothing if not unique like a...like a....unique person. Similes don't fail me now.

Hi Misha,
Very cool and as always, very unique! Love the vocal processing you used on this.
I'm not that mad about the intro, a little too abrupt for me, but everything else sounds great.
Well done!

Scott, Thank you for listening and nice feedback, here and on SC! --------- Tangmo, Thank you for listening and interesting comment. We are all unique. I think the difference is how much you want to listen of what is going on inside of you (or not, which might be easier) --------- Dave, Thank you for supportive comments! I see what you mean about intro....Thank you for pointing it out!!! Intros and endings are my weak spots.

What a tune! Love the inventive lyrics on this one, and your mix job is superb. Flows beautifully, and some of those vocal effects just add so much texture and vibrancy. It really punches, and effectively got stuck in my head. Wouldn't change a thing - thanks for sharing
Cheers, Deryk

"Drawing sketch of life, running out of happy paint Just some grey hues of morning remains on palette and that plain air color of dew... I am like lonely tree standing and waiting for you"
Wonderful imagery!
Janice's first comment: "Sounds like Frank Zappa meets David Bowie!"
Man, if you ever get interested in videos you will have some rich material.
Three listens later we still hear new textures and cool "band" things happening.
You obviously put a lot of time and thought into the arrangement, vocals and mix. And it paid off!
Enjoyed it.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
