A short piece I wrote to spec as the intro song for a musical talent show. The various tracks are introduced in layers as the piece progresses. It was forwarded a couple of months ago but haven't heard back. I wonder which trash can they tossed it in! It's just 1:21 in length as that's what they wanted (1:20 to 1:30). I've considered making it a full piece of about 3:00. Haven't yet decided. I like the buildup and think has that "theme" music structure and progression you were aiming for. Sounds good, too. I'm not sure you should have ended on such a "sad" chord, but what do I know? I think it would work great fleshed out to a more "song-sized" arrangement.

It works and I can hear it doing as designed but you have a very truncated guitar chord at 0.09 that sounds like an error in editing.

Hi Tangmo ...
Thanks for the listen and comments. Glad you like it ... thanks for letting me know. As far as that last chord/note: By not resolving to the tonic chord, I think it leaves a sense of anticipation or a "hunger" for more. Since it was for a TV show, I thought that might be the feel it left. But, I could be wrong. I sometimes am ... my wife will testify under oath to that. I'll see what others have to say. I appreciate the feedback very much. Best to you ...

Hi Ray ...
It seems you were replying as I was answering Tangmo. I'm aware of that issue @ :09. Every time I would attempt to get a "new" sound there with a rerecord, I got the same thing each time. I have a couple of Real Tracks like that for some reason.
But thanks a bunch for the listen and feedback ... and the good ear. Best to you ...
Alan

Alan,
Great piece! I love the way it kicks into high gear around the 34 second mark...
Awesome mix - you can clearly hear the way this is layered.
Loved it!

Good Morning, Bob ... Thank you so much. Glad it works for you. And that's the way it was planned ... layers up to the final one and then ... GO! Thanks for the very nice words! Wishing you the very best ... Alan

Sounds good to me Alan! I like the way it builds, and I think not resolving to the tonic is the right thing to do for a piece designed as an intro.
I could see this as full length piece, it has good bones.
Best to you and Di!

Alan,
Well done - as are ALL of you instrumentals.
Smokin' guitar that is fit very well in the mix. I could definitely see this being used for a show intro.
The very beginning could have used a pick-up note or two - it was a bit "abrupt", everyone-jump-in-at-once...

Best to you and Di! Thanks Dave! Appreciate the listen and your feedback. Sounds like the jury is calling for a full track ... just might do that! And thank you for the well wishes. Di has felt noticeably better the past 2 days. I'll pass your greeting on to her. Best to you ... Alan

Nicely done - short, sweet, and to the point. Never a bad thing! I can definitely imagine this as the background music to a TV show intro or something similar. It definitely has a cinematic feel to it. Thanks for sharing
Cheers, Deryk

fj Floyd ... Thank you very much! Good call about a couple of pick-up ticks at the beginning. The prevailing thought seems to be it's worth a full song. SO, I think I'll do that just as soon as I can. I'll keep your comments in mind when I do ... thanks for the input. Best to you & yours ... Alan
