Hi, friends ! Been awfully long time since we´ve met on the site ! I am truly sorry for that but I have been just too occupied with other commitments such as selling my property and moving in with Li - the operation that triggers a lot of side effects as the moves are not over yet with that, I still have to get my daughters flat sold before I can rest on the laurels ! In any case, friends, I just got this little love song for Li finished ! The Style is: _PLAYFUL.STY and the instros are: Bass: 3122, Piano: 1262 Drums: RD:S Poppromise, Guitar 1: 522, Guitar 2: 691, Guitar 3: 1681 12 string, Synth Pad: 1840 and Vocal AAhs: 3063 The links to the song are here: http://soundcloud.com/user-337827005/when-you-smilehttp://app.box.com/s/jwx5ogult1wl4deinpdr45uzzh27bb7tRecorded with mixcraft 8 on my laptop Reverb and Compressor used The lyrics are as follows: When You Smile (Music and Words by Norman Wibe) When you smile, smile t´wards me, Darlin, Li I feel happy in my heart When I hear you laugh When I hear your laughter´Darlin´, Li it just fills me up with joy Oh Lord give us many years of love and laughter still let us grow together all to Your will When I see you cry When I see you cry , my dearest one I just wanna kiss away your tears You´re an angel You´re my angel Li my very own angel here for all to see When you smile, smile t´wards me, Darlin, Li I feel happy in my heart happy in my heart, my Li Cheers Dani

Nice one, Dani... It has been awhile since your last song... I hope you get everything squared away so you... "can rest on the laurels" & get back to writing

Sounds like you have been quite busy. That said, I really like your use of the Style in this song! Very good. Thanks for taking the time to share it with us.

This song really works and the two voices work really well together. But, the essing on your voice is very aggressive inside headphones. You could use volume automation to reduce the level when you hit an S or use a plug in the does that for you. It's a really good performance and good song though. https://www.youtube.com/results?search_query=de-essing+in+mixcraft+8https://forums.acoustica.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=18157http://demon.acoustica.com/bbs/viewtopic.php?t=1509Also by Verdeboy » Sun Mar 18, 2007 9:27 pm You should be able to de-ess using the auto filter effect that comes with Mixcraft. Just figure out how to set it as a "notch filter" and get rid of the frequencies around 10.2 khz. Ask the moderators how to make a notch filter. I'm not familiar with their particular auto filter.

Beautiful love song, just the right length. Loved the subdued harmonies and soft-spoken lead vocal. I hope you can get all your chores done without much trouble and relax.

Nicely done - really sweet, and very pretty! I like how soft and gentle on the ears it is. It has a really sugary feel to it - definitely brought a smirk to my face. Thanks for sharing

...and thank you so much for your most kind words ! I´ve been really busy not only with selling property but barbershopping, gigging, playing lead in a Shadows band, travelling with a lot of pensioners as my lady Li is a travel agent, bookkeeping etc. etc. .....huh !!!!
This is how it is supposed to be when you are a pensioner ?

Thanks Ray !
You are probably right that there might be too much treble as I was afraid of murkiness when I tried to mix !
Many thanks to you for your supportive and kind words !
Cheers Dani

It sounds like moving in with Li is making you very happy. Thus I am very happy for you my friend.
I really like this song. Your vocals were spot on and your lyrics were heart driven, and I like those kind of lyrics.
This is an excellent song.
