Dery, Bob, Joe, HTL, Greg, Robert, Kenny and Misha

Thank Y'all for mentioning the harmony. I'm always happy when floyd get the janettes together for a session smile

You and Janice sound superb together.
Some overall great phrasing, a strong lyric and a great production.
Pro all the way.

Thanks, Peter. Good to have you back...

The thing that really caught my attention was how the melody didn't align with the beat. So there's an interplay between where the lyric is expected to start - on the downbeat - and actual start, which is quite unpredictable.

Very cool.

I had my son listen to it, and his comment was that he thought it had some odd rhyme scheme that he couldn't work out, which was also my impression. But that's not the case at all. A sort of "aural" illusion.

And if I were Noel, I could mention how this is reflective of the singer's emotional turmoil and confusion, and how this prosody aligns with the teaching of Pat Pattison. wink

Everything else has pretty much been said. Excellent work, as usual. Fun (and educational) listen.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Nice intro! And that beat track really works well too, gives it a more modern sound.

Always a treat to listen to your mixes, listened through both the monitors and the 'phones, great sound through both.

Enjoyed!

Thanks, Dave. (and thanks for the comment on the mix...)

One good song after another. Pretty amazing, FJ.

And as always, the production and the Jannettes are winning combinations.

Take care.

HAHAHA! Thanks for that fine, funny review, Charlie... I'm always pleased when you find time to stop by for a listen...

Even though your writes are obviously way strong enough to be recorded by the "star" it's hard to imagine this without a floyd jane vocal.

Strong, powerful and emotive. All of that stuff in spades.

Janice enjoyed adding her part and Bud enjoyed hearing her work it up...in the kitchen smile

Wowser!!!!

You both should be very proud of this one.

Thanks for the nice review, Mario...

As always, your songs and their delivery is so pro. Not only are your lyrics some of the very besy on the forum, but your sense of production/arrangement is second to none. Loved this!

When that kick drum started near the beginning, the song just took of and soared, never losing it's high flight along the way. Simply great.

David - I always enjoy reading your comments on a song - always thoughtful... the overall feel of this developed as I worked on the production - adding, subtracting until it settled into that rhythm. I'm not clever enough to predict it beforehand... smile

Beautiful mellow chord progression, adding some soul to a country song.
Soft arrangement mixed perfectly, drums bring modern feeling and also sort of a broken heartbeat.
Great vocals, I like those almost spoken words hurt/dark, the harmonies work really well.
The second verse starts unexpectedly - very interesting approach.

Another radio worthy song from you. And again, your vocals are good in both technique and interpretation. Thanks for sharing your art.
