Farfetched Tangmo Band embraces the world, even if the world does not embrace Farfetched Tangmo Band. This vocalist is from Houston. The Saxophonist is from Spain. I also have a different vocalist not featured in this mix from Nigeria. All three came from Fiverr.com. Message me for contact info. In time, I'll post more in Off-Topics about how all this came about, but for now I'll tell you it is for an amateur theatrical production--something of a romantic comedy.

*******************

Mixed in Acid Pro. This mix is essentially a demo mix. I won't be doing the final mix.

I wrote the song, and arranged the band, and tried to sing it, and failed, and fired myself, and went to fiverr.

Though the song is called "Cloudy Day" (my goodness, what else could it have been called?) it's not really about a cloudy day or the prospect of rain. But if you want to think it is, bless you.

Enjoy, if possible.

Cloudy day...Relax, the wind will blow the dust away
The wet will come , won't let the tourists play
Cloudy day, cloudy day.

Cloudy day...A steady splash makes such a fine display
A farmer needs it, did some good to pray
Cloudy day, cloudy day

Soon the sky will rumble
And the rain will come
Then the dry will tumble
It's time that we got some.

Cloudy day...Pappaya tree will surely bend and sway
Come sit beside me and we'll be okay
Cloudy day, cloudy day.

Cloudy day...It's good the clouds will keep the heat at bay
but things will wam up when you look my way
Cloudy day, cloudy day

Soon the sky will rumble
And the rain will come
Then the dry will tumble
It's time that we got some.

Bridge:
If there's a big clap of thunder, under the sheets we'll hide
moving...so if the kid comes in scared she won't think we have died

Instrumental verses and chorus

Soon the sky will rumble
And the rain will come
Then the dry will tumble
It's time we were gettin' some.

Cloudy day...It holds the prospect we'll be washed away
but brings the promise of a greener May
Cloudy day, cloudy day.

I saw the post in Off Topic and read that first

and it really enhanced the listen here.

It doesn't sound like someone fighting thru a dry spell,

it is an inspired/inspiring write.

Both the singer and the sax player are great, they sound very pro to me.

Love the tracks used here, I can hear it in a play/production with a female singer

I think it will be awesome and I imagine your playwright friend beaming.

I really enjoyed the listen,

Kenny

Really nice work smile It flows perfectly, and really had a fantastic groove. It sounds really soulful, especially in the vocals. Reminds of soul and R&B music from the 70's. I'm almost getting a Bill Withers vibe.

Thanks for sharing!

Tangmo,

This is cool. I really enjoyed your story in Off-Topics to go along with this... Congratulations on all aspects of it... cool story, cool song.

The write work really well. It has the feel of a Bill Withers kind of song (high praise in my book!).

Nice production - supportive - allowing your singer AND you sax soloist to shine.

Best of all...it is quite catchy. I am still hearing it (in my head) as I type this. Just what is needed for a theatrical song...

Well done. Quite enjoyable.

Nice tune. It's got a good feel to me and I think you did a strong write, arrangement and production. Enjoyed my listen and your fiver's gave you ten's on this one...

We also read the off topic thread before listening. I think your playwright got very lucky!

Everything sounds pro level. The band is excellent, the vocalist nailed it and the arrangement/write/mix are in the pocket -- all in harmony.

Oh, and we love the message.

Well done!!!!!

Very, very nice song you have composed and written. It is a very good singer you found on fiverr - encouraging that it is possible!

The sax player did a nice job as well, but I honestly think that some of the sax soloists in BiaB could have done a good job as well, so you might have been able to save some money there.

Anyway... it was really enjoyable listening to this song, so thanks a lot for sharing!

Tangmo,
Cool tune and great job pulling it all together! Production is super on this! I read your off-topic thread too. It is nice to see fuller picture of works behind this (otherwise, it would probably confuse me a bit smile )

Thank you for sharing!

It doesn't need external mixing - nice, tidy arrangement and a solid mix that makes the best of the elemenst.
There a re a few sibilant spots that may be worth addressing but, then again, maybe not.

Tangmo,
Really suitable for the theatrical purpose- catchy, smooth and I could picture some dance moves to go with.
The singer & sax are both excellent.
Please post a link to the production when it gets out there...touring LOS?
