Hi guys, I'm posting a new track. I may have a few odds and ends to do before I leave it alone, but sometimes it is better to back away for a few days and let it stew. I'm always interested in any feedback from the many experts on this forum. I was listening to some old classic country tracks a few weeks ago and came across Faron Young's "Hello Walls". I decided to do something similar, but with emotions instead of structural features. Same old "wife gone, I'm brokenhearted" tale that is so common to country music. Just a new take, or is it? I hope you like it.

Hello Trouble

Hello Trouble.
I haven't seen you in some time
seems the only time we meet is when
I'm out of my mind
well hello Mr. Teardrop,
I see you've brought along all your friends
The minute she walked out my door
I knew that you'd be coming in

chorus

I didn't want to love her,
but my heart got in the way
and I don't want to miss her,
but I guess I will any way
and Hello Mr. Loneliness.
I see you waiting out around the bend
I tried my best to hold you back
but you might as well come on in

Hell Heartache. I've been expecting you.
I've got me a brand new broken heart
so I might be needing you
I've got a whole new kind of loneliness
the kind you don't ever lose
I guess I'll have to buy me a cheap guitar
learn ow to sing the blues

repeat chorus

Another good song Gary...
I always like your writes...
Good job....

This tune reminded me of an old George Jones song...
So I looked it up & was surprised to see who was singing harmony with him...

Loved this tune Gay. What a cool vocal. Do I hear a hint of George J in there. Very cool indeed. Well done...

Good song.
Good arrangement and vocal performance too.
I think the intro was too sudden and too loud.
A bit of gentle biuld around the steel would be cool.
The drums are far too loud and the rim shot really bangs through the mix.
It's a common rock staple to have the snare and kick as loud as the vocal & solo but it;s less so in country - even honky tonkin' songs.
Cool though.

Cheers

Nicely done - it gives off those classic, old school country vibes. The groove is solid, and there's some spectacular progressions here. Loved your vocals too!

Thanks for sharing smile

good old country..... back when country was country music.

Every now and then I need to get a fix, or a slap in the face to come back to my senses with this stuff they call country these days......

Nice job. I used to play in a band that played tunes like this and the crowd just loved it.

Oh yea, super good old country, and I love it!

I also could hear George Jones sing this one and in fact when you started singing I thought it was him!

We need more country like this on the radio up here!

If I heard this at a record store I would have purchased it, its that good!

You should so an CD of songs like this.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Gary,
So darn authentic with some zingers in the lyrics.
The highlight is your vocal- you`ve got the heartache right up front.
RayC makes a good point about tweaking drum volume, but its a keeper song & performance.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
