Beautiful Lie A simple song this time, I usually have much more instruments More dance-oriented approach, BIAB is capable of creating an excellent backing track also in that genre. Warning: this may sound very LOUD. Instruments used: RealDrums PraiseWorshipUptempo16 Loop: housetechno_crunchy_120_b RealTracks: Synth Bass #2298 Electric guitar Soloist #1530 (DI+Amplitube 3) Electric guitar Rhythm #1269, #1270 MIDI Orchestration (The Orchestra) Vocals by me Mixed in Cakewalk by BandLab Lyrics: Former lasting trip is past paths are going apart grayness hanging above, idylls are broken up world filled with problems but I keep on searching for a new holy love. I've found my next hideaway in your eyes even if these feelings are not mutual happy naps under the warmth of my wish quilt daydreaming continual. I'm building castles in the air I'm making bed for you too up there the darkness would conquer the blue sky if I did not believe in that beautiful lie fluffy, light, soft and white beautiful, that beautiful lie. Hours go by leisurely counting seconds until you are walking outdoors, if I just see you through my kitchen window then that is enough, you make me sparkle once more. I see my hands wrapped around your body see some playful kissing on a vernal noon see you melt my frost, numbness and open my buds release us to the wonders of June. I'm building castles in the air... I'm painting with dazzling colors to hide bitterness, envy crochet curtains for your bedroom sinking with you in this candyfloss fantasy silk on you, on your linen as feathers we are floating free as feathers we are floating free. --------- Janne

This does grab your attention from the very first note... Nicely done... An elegant melody to go along with the lyrics... Well sung... Well done!

I haven't a clue what the song's about - even after reading the lyrics. But from a musical perspective - I enjoyed it. Nicely done.

Janne,
Another nice Pop-oriented track. And very "dance-able"...
Nice job of putting the tracks together to achieve the sound. The added synth track in the chorus is very effective...

Janne, You have very unusual lyric twists. If I have to name your genre, I would say "Outsider Pop". Good work on this! I did not feel that backing track is missing any instruments, does not sound thin. Also, it was not "too" loud to my ears.
Thank you for sharing!
Misha.

Janne,
This is a very cool song. Great vocal and mix. Not too loud at all - I found the balance to be very good.

Nicely done! Gives me a sense of abstraction, almost. Flows beautifully well, and the lyrics are inventive and clever. I thought the tune had a nice pulse as well. An interesting choice for the percussion. Thanks for sharing
Cheers, Deryk

For the genre it does not sound too loud or thin. It's just right for what floyd called "danceable!"
The very strong melody really carries the song well and is memorable.
Well done!

jannesan,
Love the title on this one, catchy chorus and the overall beat keeps the listener engaged from start to finish. Nicely put together! Like dcuny, I’m not quite sure I’m following the lyrics entirely, but it still worked for me. Good stuff!
Regards,
Deej

Hi Janne, Very enjoyable. The feel of 'energy' that you've created is excellent. As floyd says... it's very 'danceable'... and I totally agree. My feet were tapping somewhere around bar 2 and didn't stop until the end That bar of excellence that you keep on setting for yourself just gets higher and higher with each production! All the best, Noel

The backing sounds brilliant. Well balanced and clear and giving that "airy" feeling expressed in the lyric. Some extra fine lines in the song. Makes me smile. Much enjoyed.

I haven't a clue what the song's about - even after reading the lyrics. But from a musical perspective - I enjoyed it. Nicely done. Thanks David, I'm glad you enjoyed even when you didn't have a clue simple explanation: story about a boy dreaming of a girl he can never have -> used idiom 'Building castles in the air' -> furnishing of the castle is dream like and light -> he knows it's a lie, but very beautiful one he doesn't want to wake up from Janne

Actually, it is not synth track as such in the chorus, but orchestral instruments, but I agree, it is very effective, it would work well also without the dance instruments. Janne

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
