This song is about the loneliness of the outsider, but I've left room for you to add your own thoughts and interpretations!
Almost all of the parts for this song came from two Band In A Box styles RealTracks as follows: Style: _SHINSYN.STY Praise & Worship Shining w/Synth Pad: Chugging guitar (R), Piano, Synth. Style: _SHINUPL.STY Pop Shining w/Uplifting Electric guitars: Chugging guitar (L), Bass, Jangling guitar
I used Addictive Drums for the drum part, and added the lead guitar solos and vocals. Soundcloud track: Here. Technical notes: Here.
The next song is going to be upbeat and happy, I promise!!

I’ve always been on my own; I don’t really mind. My journey is nearly done, my shadow is right behind. I closed my ears to the world and all its lies, When there was too much to see I just shut my eyes. Only I know how dark it feels, The pictures in my head will stay concealed.
I’m free to do what I like and say what I feel, I won’t bend to anyone: don’t expect me to kneel. I’ve done no one any harm or been the cause of pain, I just don’t understand the way people play these games. But it’s too late now, my fate is sealed. And the pain inside no one can steal.
What makes you think you can mend a broken man When so many others have failed to even understand? Who are you to say that life is just a dream? And with a touch of your hand I can be redeemed? Tell me something I can see is real: I have too many wounds for you to heal.
Wonderful. It has a Pink Floyd kind of feel to it that I adore. Muted power in backing, vocals, and lead that humanize the lyric for me. The video was a delight to watch as well.
Too many great lines to list them all, but one that speaks to me is: "What makes you think you can mend a broken man When so many others have failed to even understand?"
Nice changes, the chorus especially was unexpected but cool. Also liked your vocal and of course your guitar work is right on the money. Overall just a great, professional sound to the production.
This was wonderful Skyline! Excellent use of different tools because the mix sounds awesome. Fantastic work on the vocals too, Vocalrider is a wicked plugin for helping sustain levels. Great work!

Personally touching lyrics, I find some of myself there, also theme I have handled lyrically lately. Enjoyable band, guitars sound the way I really like. Nice intro, great soloing. Interesting chord progression. Vocals are mixed excellently. I hear several British influences from the seventies.
John, Fantastic work on this tune! From main drive to vocals, to fine details (especially how it goes into ending) very well thought out. Production sparkles. I liked it very much!
Many thanks friends for your comments. I really enjoyed putting this one together, it seemed to write itself at times, and your appreciation is highly valued!
