Hi All,

This is something new called Moonshot.

Miles between us
On the coast or outer space
Flying tonight
Every route feels untrue
I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you

Lines round my eyes
The years above the radar
Flying away
Will somehow have to do
I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you

I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was true
I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you

Catch an updraft
Watch the clouds fade away
Flying this way
Navigate without a crew
I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you

I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was true
I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was you

This is great and very current in todays style of music, finger picking guitar and vocals sit really well together and made me wonder if you needed the heavier guitar at all ?.

Great mix and great sound.

Thanks

Man, so prolific! I have no idea how you do it.

Great stuff as usual, Bob!

Lot's of passion in your vocal when you are singing the "I kinda wish this tired old moonshot was true" line.

Bob,

As cool as only another terrific Bob Dean song can be. This one has a nice spacey feel ( the signature guitar) but your voice is passionate and earthy- such a good contrast. One of your best vocals, I think.
An excellent big sound you make with the simple band.

Nice song - I like the instrumentation and it's got a memorable chorus. And it's got your distinctive sound. smile

Ah, the wonders of regional pronunciation and meanings.
The word "route" is said "root" in Oz and "route" as you said it means utter defeat in battle or to cut a groove in wood.
Due to this difference my tired old brain shot wandered into permutations and I had to come back to the song again.
Perplexing imagery in some parts but that's excellent - something to gnaw and wonder at.
VERY enjoyable.

Cheers

Another good song. You are really on a roll!

Nice vocal - tons of passion...

I like the production - a bunch. LOVE the way you used the held electric chords...

Terrific listen.

Robert alluded to it...the lyric is ethereal yet the vocal is so organic and, yes, it does make for a great and effective contrast.

If CD's were still popular we'd say you are working on a boxed set. And ALL of them are so good.

You ain't one for filler!

Great band here as always and we agree with floyd on the held chords. Perfect glue.

And the vocal delivers and delivers.

Wonderful listen(s)

I agree completely with Floyd. I really like the way you put so much feeling in each and every song.

Bob,

You consistently put out some very engaging songs—all of which just hang together and accentuate each other. There’s a killer album in the offing . . . if that’s the direction you are going. This tune, as do your others, creates such a compelling atmosphere—lot of emotion here, and your vocal sells it. Great stuff!

All the best,

Deej

Really well done! It flows tremendously well, and I liked how the lyrics really tell a story here. That, paired with your voice on this makes it a very grabbing listen for me. Perfectly catchy on the hook too - the chorus was a standout to me.

Nice work and thanks for sharing smile

Really liked the vocal delivery and the acoustic guitar. Lyrics had me wondering which, I think, is a good thing in songwriting.

Hi Bob ...

Story song wrapped with great productions choices - how can you go wrong? You're signature sound is such a good listen. I could kick back and enjoy several albums of your music. Your songs always have such creative lyrics and you always find the perfect band to bring it to life. Sweet!

Bob,

When I listened to this yesterday, I left a comment on Sound Cloud but forgot to come back here and leave my comments. This getting old stuff ain't what it's cracked up to be!

You remind me of Dylan in one way ... your sound is so distinctive and immediately recognizable as Bob Dean after just one or two words. I never get tired of your signature sound ... what a treat!

Bob,

The sound of Mongolian metal folk music was still in my head when I tuned-in into this creation of yours. It sits so very comfortably with what I was just listening to!

You really know how to write and produce song after song after song. I don't know how you manage to maintain such a high standard so consistently.

All the best,
Noel

Enjoyed the listen. The band is right there, and sounds good. Your vocals never fail to inspire. I might have wished (simple country boy that I am) for a bridge or something that brought a little more clarity to the lyric. It feels a little "post-truth" to me, but maybe that's the point. Got me thinking and working to interpret it as a happy song. Much enjoyed.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
