Robert, we love your work and the backstories always add so much.

"I cannot play things as they are
in the sky I hear a blue guitar"

That adds just the right amount of dots for the listener to connect. Cool.

Several mentioned the progression and we'll join in on how effective it is in setting the mood. Very nice.

Your vocals add so much to the already mystical tapestry. The harmony really adds to the build.

And as floyd said about Scott's contribution: "Really "fits the song" and adds to it." YES! It's way beyond just throwing in some licks no matter how well executed. His part so well complements the vocal and overall arrangement.

Re the mix we feel everything works. All is good there on the monitors. Excellent soundstage.

Great collab and use of BiaB.

Robert, you and Scott are a natural duo! Your vocals and Scott's guitar are a perfect match for each other. Your backing tracks were spot on and your mix was excellent.

This is really good, great job.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Glad you liked our efforts, Peter. I was thinking more psychedelic ( eg early Love)
than prog rock, but will take your thumbs up!

David,
I don`t know about the Talking Heads reference, but appreciate your thumbs up on the mix and our sound. Thanks for noticing our difference!

RayC,
I had made a note about that conga entry - agree it should come up or disappear.
To my ears the song lags without a drum kit as well as the congas, but your comments on the balance are useful and will get a revisit at some point.

Joe,
Thanks for your listen and comments.

Kenny,
We appreciate your positive take on our collaboration!

Thank you for all the good you found in this, J&B.

Strange; I thought I had borrowed that line from Wallace Stevens ( its a long poem I read once), but it seems its mine... I`m quite pleased about that!

Torrey,
Its a treat working with Scott - to find a guitarist who "gets" your songs is darn cool for a writer who never got past strummming!

Thank you for that, Greg.
I tweaked the mix to bring out the congas - it seems a bit more magical to my ears now.

Nicely done! This might be one of my favourites from you. Wonderfully catchy with vibrant instrumentation, and your vocals soar on this. It flows gorgeously, and the guitar interlude pull it all together for me.

Wouldn't change a thing - thanks for sharing smile

Thank you, Deryk.
I think you heard the adjusted the percussion mix.Keeps the congas from getting lost. Scott`s solo really suits the change too.

Robert and Scott,

You've done it again! Your collaborations just keep on gleaming more and more with each one that's posted. This one shines!

The write, arrangement and production are great. Robert your vocals are really confident these days and Scott, you make skilful guitar playing sound so very easy.

Very, very effective work (again)!

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
