I have watched the video which is useless, because it is from 2014 and with another UI. I've checked the new manual but cannot find this information. I've searched the forums, but only get 8 pages in return which all are about the problems with the new vst-plugin (again useless info for me in this case).
It is probably simple but I don't understand how to drag and drop single tracks into Cubase, so that I get an audio-track with each instrument (the bas, etc.)
I don't even know how to export a single track to a wav-file... I only know how to export the whole song.
Please help a stupid Danish guy. I have so many problems with BiaB 2019, that I need to get the tracks out and into a more stable platform.
First of all, make sure you are using the most up-to-date patch for 2019. There is also a plugin documentation page on the website which you can find +++ here +++. It has a lot of documentation, screen shots, and supporting videos for using the BIAB VST Plugin (and its stand-alone version) in various DAWs.
Have you looked at the VST-Plugin video specifically designed for Cubase? This is not from 2014, as the plugin only became available in 2019.

FWIW, many DAWs allow simply dragging tracks from one to the other, just in case you haven't tried it yet. Might want to try to open both programs and try dragging a track from one program to the other. Just a thought .. sometimes it is easier than you may have expected, depending on the DAW. Sometimes it doesn't work .. but worth trying. Sometimes it takes a little more effort. I know if you open a BiaB file in Realband you can pretty easily drag/drop the tracks from RB to other DAWs like Reaper ..
Make your sound your own! .. I do not work here, but the benefits are still awesome
Pressing "Ctrl" plus pressing the letter "T" changes the GUI interface. The two screen shots below show the two view available by toggling Ctrl + T.
The bottom, standard view includes the Drop Zone marked in red. The drop zone has six zones and a + in the middle. The six zones are file types: WAV, M4A and WMA on the left and WMAL, MP3 and MID on the right. Just above the drop zone are the track names. Click and drag a track name either from the track list or from the mixer track names to the drop zone. The file(s) end up at X:/bb/Drag and Drop where X = the drive letter where Band-in-a-Box is installed.
I simply export to song to wav files. I set things to centre and flat (right click on the Master button select flat mix) which gives me control of where I want things. I create a folder for the songs wav files I then export to individual files and leave the normalise (Normalize) option on. I create a song project in my daw and set the tempo to agree with BIAB then simply select and drag the files into the DAW if I’m using Reaper or import the tracks if using Sonar. A similar approach can be used with almost any DAW. Once in the DAW I normalise (Normalize to some) all the tracks to -12 dB which gives me a good place to start mixing.
I also export midi parts in a similar fashion using the same folder for the song as the wav files.
That I find easy and consistent. Tony

That's an interesting point Jim...where the "drag and drops" are stored.
You said, "Click and drag a track name either from the track list or from the mixer track names to the drop zone. The file(s) end up at X:/bb/Drag and Drop where X = the drive letter where Band-in-a-Box is installed."
I'm using an SSD for my programs, that's where BIAB is located. All of my RealTracks and RealDrums are located on a secondary mechanical hard drive.
Is there a way to get BIAB to store the "drag and drop" files someplace else other than on my SSD to keep the SSD clean and to reduce reads and writes to that drive?

I don’t think so; they would go into the folder under /BB on whatever drive that you put BIAB. It is easy enough to move them off, once, to somewhere else. I don’t think this kind of sporadic use will affect the life of your SSD anything but the most minimally.
Reading an SSD doesn’t affect it; that’s what they are best at. Writing doesn’t directly affect it either; it’s the erasing files and reorganizing of space by the OS that you need to be aware of, a little.

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!
For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.
Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.
Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!
Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.
Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
