Amazing how adding real performances to the Real Tracks can create such a vibrant engaging sound.
Regarding those performances, firstly it's a strong song expertly written with wonderful vocals from you and Janice (no surprise there) and it's the first time I've heard real drums mixed in on the user forum - and Caaron sounds great.

Excellent.

Peter

Hi,Floyd, Caaron and Janice !

I could not discover in what way
you were out of your comfort zone
on this one ? In my opinion you
were spot on in your comfort zone
and in being there made a tune that
not only is my favfloyd tune but is
a masterpiece in every way !

What a superb collab could not be
better !:))

Thanks y'all. I'm always happy to sing on a floyd production and it was really special knowing that Caaron was going to play on it!

You should be proud of this one - thanks for sharing smile

Nice collaboration, drums sound powerful rock and modern dance at the same time. Vocals and production are top quality, naturally in your comfort zone.

The drums added much. I'm amazed at how well you handle the variety, number, and complexity of the elements, Floyd. True professional. Fine backup, too.

Cool song, cool harmonies and a well judged set of bass parts to work with the kit.
Excellent!

Thanks, ray. Actually working with Caaron's drum tracks was a joy. Played together as a drum track only, they mixed well. Then, when put into the mix with the rest of the instruments, that soundscape changed, so that each track needed different processing to get them back to where they were as a full set...

Like the song. The band moves things along well and your impeccable phrasing delivers a fun lyric. Mine definitely took me out of mine, but I return the favor sometimes too. Vocals and harmonies top-notch. Hats off the the Janettes. Much enjoyed.

HA! There have been a few - one of which I married 42 years ago... Debra Ann...may others a mix of fact and fiction... HTL's drums are a delight, of course... thanks for the great review...

By the way, Peter's been nagging me for quite a while to make comments on the forum, but the truth is I don't spend much time on-line (and I mostly agree with his posts anyhow). There are some hugely talented people on here whose songs I do try to make a point of listening to whenever I can, and that certainly includes you. Always enjoy your stuff.

Kind regards,
Leon

Thanks, Leon!! SO pleased to see you on the forum....even if it is only once in a while... the stuff that you and Peter do is always good...

Hello Floyd,

I really can relate to these lyrics, have known that feeling myself many years ago.

A great melody, like always brilliant vox (and what could go wrong with Janice in the back...).

No doubt, one of my favorite FJ songs.

All the best,

Stefan

Lots of interesting percussion in addition to the drums. And cowbell!

Janice is subtle in the mix - I didn't even notice her the first time. Of course, the second time through I sort of wondered how I missed them. (Yes, I know - what happens in the background stays in the background).

Expertly done from start to finish, fun listen.

We all thank you for those comments, David.

That lyric was originally "Pumpkin proud". But, then "lemon loud" didn't make any sense, so I had to change it.

I'm still convinced that the lyrics to "I'd Really Love To See You Tonight" by England Dan and John Ford Coley is...
"I'm not talking 'bout your linens"

...and I always wonder... "Well, why WOULD you??"

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
