Hi, I have a viewing problem with measure distinction when looping a section for practice. When I used BIAB for Windows the current bar was surrounded by a different colour to the black of the selected section, making it easy to see. I am now using 2018 Mac and the current bar is just black, the same as the whole section. Black on Black does not work for distinction. Is there a way to change the colour of either the current bar or the selected section?
Thanks, I went all around the display options and simply passed over the little arrows at the top. The selections are now in different colours and working a treat. Thanks again.
I'm trying to do the same but it's not easy to see the options in the Pref > Display dialog box. When looping a section, the sections is highlighted in black, but it's hard to see the current chord since the bar playing doesn't change colour. Thanks!
Hello Pipeline! I hope you are still here. I am running biab 2019 and I believe that some of the terminology may have been changed in the color display menu. I would like to change the color of the chord being played to something other than the present black, perhaps having the adjacent area something other than white as well. My eyes need the differences due to the particulars of the lighting in my work room. I have follow your instructions above, hit the OK button, but I get no change from the default settings. I am missing something essential. Can you, or some of the other knowledgable members give me a hand? Thanks in advance, Jim
Hello all, I have finally made the color change on the chord being played. This leads me to another question, is there a tutorial (I can´t find one) that helps rebuild the color scheme of biab´s all functions? I run Reaper, where there is at support many user designed color schemes that are downloadable. Does Biab offer the possibility of changing colors in the interface in a similar fashion?
See Add a little Color Back To GUI it changes the compact view icons though you can edit the fullscreen icons. You can't theme Biab though it has been ask for many times, you are basically stuck with those grays. Maybe they can use this: http://www.alphaskins.com/index.php
You can use a resource editor to change colors in the Delphi forms but that's a bit of messing around.
You can use ReaTrak to integrate Biab an the Biab Plugin to Reaper.
In the skin folders now they have a PANELS folder C:\bb\Data\CustomSkins\Factory\PANELS this is the Gray color behind the buttons in Full Screen mode. When I made the skin buttons for the Compact mode they didn't have this PANELS folder so I didn't create the same skin buttons for Full Screen as in Compact mode.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows® Today!
Update your Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows for free with build 1111!
With this update, there's more control when saving images from the Print Preview window, we've added defaults to the MultiPicker for sorting and font size, updated printing options, updated RealTracks and other content, and addressed user-reported issues with the StylePicker, MIDI Soloists, key signature changes, and more!
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
