Love the groove of this. Really well put together. The bridge reminded me of Super Tramp. Well done Rog. Rob4580 Hi Rob. Many thanks for the review, much appreciated. You did a really great job with creating something quite atmospheric. Well done. Hi Ember. Thanks for looking in and for the nice comments. Rog
Nicely done - well played and composed. Were the drums programmed via midi? Atmospheric & bluesy - nice change at the bridge. Peter Hi Peter, Yes, the drums are indeed programmed via MIDI, using a sample player. The samples are ones which we've made ourselves and we have a collection dating back to the 80s when we got our first Vesta sampler! We still use those old 8 bit samples, but the ones on this track are more recent 16 bit 44.1k. Anyway, pleased you liked the track and many thanks for the review. Cheers, ROG.

ROG,
Slick tune that captures a feel and runs with it. Could see this as a backing track to something like “Stranger Things” or the like. Love what you do on that bridge—great production work. Really impressive work—enjoyed the heck out of my listen.
Kindest regards,
Deej

Hey, welcome back and what a song for the re-entry!
That intro grabbed us from the get go...cool guitar (and that which follows).
Love that super contrasting Beatles like bridge.
Super cool lyric that is absolutely nailed with the great vocal.
Getting a bit of Jeff Lynne and The Traveling Wilburys ... which for us is a very good thing!
FUN!
J&B
Hi there J&B, Always pleased to get a review from you two; much appreciated and many thanks. Been a great fan of the Wilburys since the 80s, so well pleased with that reference. So, glad you liked this one and it's good to be back on the forum again. Cool tune..... things that go bump in the night.
To overcome that fear, you must become the night.
I enjoyed this. Nice work.....yep Thank you very much, Herb. I made myself nervous with this one! Pleased you enjoyed it. And it's not even Halloween!! Great track, Rog. The 'feel' takes me back to the 60's heavy Rockers we used to do. Great vocal and superb tracks. Loved the 'nod' to Space Oddity in the short bridge. Welcome back Ian Hey Ian, that's very nice of you. Yes, I go back to the 60s as well! Hadn't thought about "Space Oddity" but now you mention it, I can see where you're coming from. Many thanks for looking in. ROG,
A great listen. A great overall sound. Cool song.
Always like your vocals! (and they fit this groove so well).
Terrific mix. Everything tucked in nicely where it needs to be. Cohesive.
Enjoyed. fj Hi Floyd. Always value your opinion, so glad you approved of this offering. It's reassuring about the vocals - I'm always riddled with self-doubt them. So, many thanks for the review. ROG

Rog, Cool spooky rock tune! Very strong arrangement and mix. Vocals situated very well in it.
Thank you for sharing!
Misha. Hi Misha, Many thanks for looking in and for the kind review. Nice song with a good, tried and true blues riff throughout, good effort on all fronts. Hi Tunemonger. Thanks for the review and kind words. I really like the string lines in the background. The dynamics of this go from strut to Robert Wyatt style confessionals. Your voice is wonderful - characterful and in tune. Top shelf. Hey, Ray, that's a very nice review; many thanks and much appreciated. Nice. Love the guitar work. Intriguing variation of beat and mood. Atmospheric. Many thanks, Ghostgum. I always strive to get variation into the songs - nice that you picked-up on this. What a tune - I'm getting some 70's folk rock vibes with this one. It flows great, and I love the groove here. Nicely atmospheric, and it blends with the catchiness well. The kind of song I'd imagine sounding unreal live.
Thanks for sharing! Hi Deryk. As it happens, I did work with a few folk rock bands in the 70s and obviously some of it rubbed off. Many thanks for looking in on this one.

Fun listen! Love the maj7thy bridge and the nice guitar work. HI David. Many thanks for the listen and review. Pleased you liked the bridge and I also included a G#dim in there, with you particularly in mind! Strong and scary story, that hypnotic groove adds the necessary thrill. That bridge part is very nice, psychedelic. Nice chording and guitar playing. Noel and Liam came to my mind but this is way better. I hope that creature won't show up here Janne Hi Jann. Many thanks for the review and all the positives - much appreciated. ROG,

Kindest regards, Deej Hi Deej. Thanks for all the kind comments. Yeah, getting an airing on Strange Things would be nice. Well we can dream... hi rog great job love it nice chops perfectly done eric Hi Eric. Thanks for dropping in and for the kind words. Cheers, ROG.

ROG, Sweet! Great progression, guitar work, mix and overall production. Excellent. I want to apologize for being so absent from the forum. Also, I will be candid that this part of the post is kind of a generic “form letter” to my old and new forum friends. In brief, work is very hectic right now and I am having a hard time keeping up with the forum and even writing new songs. There is also a lot of new material hitting the boards—more than I can listen to and reply. People are on a roll! Instead of backing away from the forum I want to stay involved by just giving the equivalent of a “like” as opposed to full-fledged commentary. This way, I can just keep listening, and enjoying and reply with a simple LOVE IT or something like that. I do listen, love your stuff and really want to continue following those who are so dedicated to encouraging others, even if it is only with one word. Hope this makes sense, thanks for your artistry and forgive my brevity going forward with massive time constraints. Also forgive me if you see this message more than once until I know I have covered all my bases. Peace!!

Extra-fine blues rock number. You keep the "chills" coming and the "push back" and effects in the middle are just plain creepy. Very entertaining and unsettling.

Also forgive me if you see this message more than once until I know I have covered all my bases. Peace!! Hi David. Personally, I'm grateful to anyone who has time to listen, however brief the comment. In the eight years I've been on the forum, it's changed considerably and there's far more songs on the Showcase than ever before. I've been spending a lot of time travelling recently and when I am at home I find that the work has piled up, so I'm having the same experience as yourself. There are so many excellent tracks on here these days, that listening to and writing a full review for all of them can take up more time than I have available. So, like David, please forgive me if I don't devote as much time to the forum as I would like. Cheers, ROG.

ROG,
Super tune! An emphatic Blues-Rock song that put a big smile on my face!Z Love that variation in sounds, particularly the chorus. Sounds like Travelin' Wilburys on the verses and Beatles on the chorus. Really cool! Good to have you back on the boards. Wishing you the very best ...

Rog, this is one of your best. Love the blues. Your vocals were spot on. Excellent work.
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

Alan Hi Alan. If it made you smile it was all worthwhile! I still don't have as much spare time to spend here on the forum as I'd like, but hoping to be around a bit more for the remainder of the year. Thanks for looking in. Take care. ROG.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!
If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.
A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."
"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."
"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
