Hi all. This is just another cry in your beer song.
All comments welcome. Rob4580

I sit at the bar wondering how I went wrong
While the juke box is playing one of the saddest songs.

I open my wallet and see a picture of you.
Oh if I could go back I'd know just what to do.

I throw back a whiskey with hopes of hiding the pain.
When I wake in the morning things will be just the same.

bridge

I throw back a whiskey with hopes of hiding the pain.
When I wake in the morning things will be just the same.

When I wake in the morning things are always the same
When I wake in the morning I only have my self to blame.

Bob/Rob,
1st thing... please consider changing duke to juke!
This is almost as you describe it - it's almost what it says on the box!
This is just another cry in your whisky song.
Short and succinct - it does the job well: sad and suggests many other things but doesn't wallow in its own narrative,
GOOD ONE!

Cheers

A throwback song, for throwing whisky down.

Nicely done.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

I recognise that song pic, I used the exact same one for a song we did a while ago smile

Nothing wrong with using a classic theme in my book, good job on this.

Rob,

About as "classic" sounding as it gets. Nice job on this.

Good vocal. Good mix.

Nicely done smile Certainly a somber tune, but that's not bad by my books. It flows tremendously well, and is a great ode to the classic sad country style from back in the day. I enjoyed the harmonies on this, and the gentle and slow pace.

Thanks for sharing!

Great work on this Rob, what a marvelous song I might say! The arrangement is a pleasure to listen to and very soothing to hear. Good use of space on the guitar. Looking forward to hear more!

Great song Rob...
In a Texas beer joint...
This little waltz would crowd the dance floor...
Giving the guys a chance to polish their rodeo belt buckles smile
Yeah... all your songs are well-crafted but I really like the simplicity of this one!
BTW...
Add me to the list of those who have purloined that song picture.

"Giving the guys a chance to polish their rodeo belt buckles" Hahahaha Jim. Never heard that one.

This takes us back to an old classic "Old Flames" and we're taken back in a good way.

When I was in college, way way back, it was in a "dry" county and the closest bar was a cinder block country juke joint in the next county.
I learned to love country music there listening to songs just like this.

Thanks for the memories and well done all the way around!

Hey Rob ...

Love that smooth voice of yours! And you created a real throwback to some of the best classic country. I could easily imagine Willie Nelson having taken this to the top of the charts around 1980 or so. I enjoyed my listen a bunch!@

I don't drink whiskey but this song makes me wanna feel the same pain in the morning smile Great arrangement, everything works so well: the pedal and solo guitarists, vocals, backing vocals and that heavy snare.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
