I agree with some of those choices.

I'm surprised " They're Coming to Take Me Away"

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hnzHtm1jhL4

wasn't on that list.

Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up.

Dunno if it's the worst, but one I've HATED with a passion is the clapping song by Shirley Ellis. It's horrible

I'm not opening that link. I don't want any of the potential candidates stuck in my head today.

For example, is My Sharona on the list?

Debbie Boone's "You Light Up My Life" +++ YouTube Video +++ has to be near the top of the earworm list. It just has to be!

There are plenty of cloying, vapid songs.

But it takes a special kind of song to get stuck in your head the way some of these do. If only we could all write such awful songs! smile

Fortunately, these all cancel each other out, right?

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Actually, I LIKE a couple of these, though even a pretty good song can be ruined by too much repetition. That's pretty much what drove me away from country radio. I didn't like Achey Breaky Heart the first time I heard it, but it took 972 additional plays before I ripped the dial off the radio. But a ton of people DID like it, so who's to say I'm right (expect me).

Here is a version of Achey Breaky Heart that you will like:

Some of the songs on that list I like a lot.

Overplaying is usually a reason for not liking a song. However, once I really like a song, and I get tired of hearing it all the time I just put it away. A year or so later, it's like visiting an old friend and I can appreciate it again.

I get tired of most one-chord songs, even if I like them to begin with.

We play a song that is usually on the top 10 list of the worst rock songs of all times, "Surfin' Bird" by The Trashmen

We do it as shtick after a big build up, and ham it up over the top, and the Baby Boomer audience usually gets a kick out of it.

It's a stupid song but making fun of it makes it fun.

There's some interesting choices - some of which I disagree with, but some I definitely do.

Hate is a strong word and I avoid using it. But I hate Mambo Number 5. A lot. But c'mon - Africa by Toto is a classic!

"How Much Is That Doggie In The Window"

A multi-million seller by Patti Page that was at the top of Billboard for weeks and weeks.

This song was so awful that as a kid it led me to embrace Rock and Roll. Really. And, yeah, I'm that old. smile

I couldn’t believe when I read Mambo No. 5 from Deryk. Then I had to look at the link. I see it’s NOT the Perez Prado song from the late 40s that made a large impression on me. This one is pretty terrible, agreed.

The Perez Prado original "Mambo #5" is a nice song for it's era. The Lou Bega version isn't even a mambo. Like "Macarena", and "Who Let The Dogs Out" I'm glad it had its day and is now passe.

I guess all of these things are subjective.

I definitely wouldn't have picked every one of the songs suggested in the appraisal, but I might have picked many of the ones our forum members have since identified crazy

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
