Dreams are one of those prompts that could probably fuel an endless amount of songs. Dreams are just so quirky and unique that I imagine they'd constantly drum up new content to write about.

Thanks for sharing! Great work.
Ember said it very nicely.
Some dream about writing songs and others write songs about dreams. And, yes, dreams are quirky and unique.
For us some times day dreaming when bicycling or hiking will lead to a song.
Your dream song is very poignant and flows like a lovely mountain stream.
Enjoyed this classic style country. Great choice of the band this song. well done Jim. Rob4580
Thanks Rob... I glad you enjoyed it... And I really appreciate your kind comments & support.

The only complaint is that it seems something is up with drums...like offbeat echo effect of certain beats. Do not know how to say it right...
Thank you for sharing! Misha.
Thanks Misha... Your listen, comments, & support always mean so much...
You're right... There's definitely something up with the drums... And your description is quite on target... It is like an offbeat echo effect on certain beats... It took me a while to figure it out... And I started to fix it... But the more I listened to the song (over several weeks)... The more it grew on me... So I decided to leave the unusual anomaly within the song... See if you can guess what caused it.
A great old country classic sound .. and that's a good thing in my book. I grew up playing what is now called classic country. I simply say it's classic. This a great song and loved it all the way through. The pedal steel was perfectly placed.
Your vocal reminded me a bit of Hank Locklin. That, too, is not a bad thing!
Yes, the drums are a bit busy, but it didn't bother me. Gives it a bit of a unique twist for the genre. Loved it!
Nice work on this Jim - it is really gentle, and I love the instrumentation on it. It has a really dreamy feeling to - very pretty and easy to take, nice and soothing to listen to.
A heartache song with a soothing feel. I always enjoy the "simplicity" in your lyric... Nice vocal. Enjoyed it. fj
Thanks Floyd... I'm always encouraged by your comments & support! I guess I got some of my appreciation for simplicity of lyrics... By listening & studying the works of others... For example... Fats Domino & Dave Bartholomew really put together some nice songs... But their lyrics & melodies always seem so simple. Did you know that Fat's version of Blueberry Hill was originally a stitched-together song.
Sounds like a classic BITD country hit. I wanted the beautiful vocal to stand out more, not necessarily volume, but maybe eq'd or compressed more. Perhaps an LA-2A plugin if you didn't try that.

This is beautiful!!! Really beautiful. I think that the drums (their speed, etc.) add to this, not detract from it, so I personally wouldn't change a thing. Made me smile, listen and tap along - you really have an elegant way of writing and delivering your songs that really carries them to the listener, I feel ... excellent job!!! :-)
This is a typically 'Jim'-song! Subtle, gentle, sweet. And not only a very steady voice, but a very nice use of a pedal steel as well! For the sake of making our songs better, I searched for something for you to improve. Couldn't find any... Liked it much,
what a nice love song that is - is it OK if I say; 'without any frills'? You always manage to convince me with the dedication your vocals show - love your voice anyway.
Some mentiioned the drums - well, maybe it's not typical for country (you know I' anything but an expert in that field), but I seem to like them that way.
And I've discovered my love for the steel in general, so I liked it a lot in your song, too.

Thanks to both of you... Your kind remarks are always appreciated... However be careful... "day dreaming when bicycling" may lead to a song... But it can also lead to a nasty accident ...
One time when I was driving while deep in thought... I came to my senses & realized... I had passed my exit several miles back !

Good song, Jim! Nice lyric and I like your vocal as always.
I hear the drum thing that some mentioned, it sounds like a double hit on the kick drum. I've had that problem myself from time to time with realdrums, it's as if when the track is looped sometimes the kick at the beginning doesn't line up properly with the kick at the end so you get the double kick, one a fraction of a second after the other. If that is the problem you should be able to see it in your DAW if you zoom in on the drum track. Only way to fix as far as I know is to cut and paste a good kick into the part that has the problem.
Having said all that it didn't take away from my enjoyment of your song

Thanks Deryk... You listen & comments are certainly appreciated!
You have a knack for the classic sounding melody and your vocals have a sincere feel that can`t be faked! I like the lyrics too- soothing as they should be. As I was listening and enjoying,I thought I heard what Roy Orbison might do with a song like this- its that good a song.

Thanks James... You're making the buttons pop off my shirt ... Initially I had a simple bass snare beat on the drums... But each time I listened to that version... I kept hearing the beats I finally gave up... And added to the finished song.

Thanks Dave... I glad you enjoyed the listen even with the drum anomaly... Your guess is pretty good... But not for this situation... However I'll save the answer & give others a chance to guess.
