Standing in the wings waiting for your mind to change No matter how long it’s always the same
Why can’t you see I’m in love with you I’ve waited now for a million tears
What will it take for you to open up your eyes I’ve waited for years don’t you realize
Why can’t you see I’m in love with you I’ve waited now for a million tears
Solo
What will it take for you to open up your eyes I’ve waited for years don’t you realize
Why can’t you see I’m in love with you I’ve waited now for a million tears
Intro to 2nd verse
Why torture me with all these foolish games No matter what I've tried it’s always the same
I Guess you never see I’m in love with you I’ve waited now for a million tears
What will it take for you to open up your eyes I’ve waited for years don’t you realize
Break
Why can’t you see I’m in love with you
End Break
I’ve waited now for a million tears I’ve waited now for a million tears I’ll waited for you for a million tears

A nice one... Reminded me of something Dwight Yoakum might record... I enjoyed it!

I feel like this is the kind of song that most of us--at some point in our lives--can relate to. Well done. Thanks for sharing.
Cheers, Ember

Really well done It flows amazingly well, and I thought your vocals were really strong and memorable. The chorus is attention grabbing and really catchy as well, and I thought the instrumentation was lush. Not to mention, the mix job on this is top notch - really professional sounding. Thanks for sharing!
Cheers, Deryk

Troy,
Catchy . . . some terrific harmonies that make the tune resonate—inviting melody. I’d listen to this over most of what i hear (OK, to be honest, what I used to hear—don’t listen much to radio anymore these days). Like the play on a “million tears” vs. “million years”—well done. Nice tune, Troy. Good luck with it
Best regards,
Deej

Just wanted to thank you all for the kind words and encouragement. I've been quietly sitting back for years too afraid to let what I've been doing be heard by anyone. I'm glad I finally got the courage up to take this step. Thanks again.

Nice one. The arrangement works well, the lyrics/narrative works really well...clever word play. Your vocal is well recorded and you've managed to tame any sibilance quite nicely. How does one do BIAB harmonies?

Nice work.
This is a cool country rocker.
it has a kind of Foster & Lloyd sound.....especially due to the harmonies.

You can find my music at: www.herbhartley.comAdd nothing that adds nothing to the music. You can make excuses or you can make progress but not both. The magic you are looking for is in the work you are avoiding.

Hey RayC
Here's how I use harmonies in BIAB. Please note you already have to have a recorded audio track in BIAB (your vocal). If you look in the tracks group section you'll see a button with a large H on it. This is where you create harmonies. Once you click on it, you'll be given three choices. I've only ever used the "Audio Harmonies and Pitch Tracking" as I don't use any MIDI. Click on the audio option, you'll be presented with a pop up box with a couple more options. I always choose to do the whole song for volume level reasons. If you do only a section the volume will be lower than the rest of the track. I also only choose to do 1 harmony voice at a time. I do this as I save each harmony voice as a wave file for mixing outside of BIAB. Once you've picked the harmony type (1 up etc) click "OK". Next another popup box will appear. Here is where you can play with levels. As I never mix the original recorded vocal with the generated harmony, I turn off the main vocal by adjusting the "Dry Voice Level". Click the "Generate" button and that's it. As I say I export each harmony voice out of BIAB for mixing in Reaper. The generated harmony sounds digital (robotic) on it's own, but when mixed with the original you can't tell. Hope this makes sense. This is a great tool and could be outstanding with some more tweaking by PG. Incidentally PG has licensed the technology from TC Helicon. They are a leader in this field. When I use to perform live, I used one of their vocal stomp boxes (Voice Live) to create harmonies on the fly. One more thing, you can always use CTRL Z to revert to the original vocal track after exporting the harmony. This way you can then create another harmony off of the original vocal. Like I said earlier I hope this makes sense. If It doesn't let me know and I can do a document with some screen shots for it.
Cheers,
Troy

Hey RayC
Here's how I use harmonies in BIAB.
Cheers,
Troy THANKS Troy, I don't do much inside BIAB except create drums structures and, sometimes, organ tracks or similar as I usually export as you do then add my own bass, guitar etc. I've copied your instructions to a word doc so I can have them on hand to try out that facility. Very good instructions mate - PHANQUE.
