Play me an old fashioned song

Come play me an old fashioned song.
A tune we can dance to all evening long.
Tune up the fiddle and rosin the bow
Come play me me an old fashioned song..

Bridge

The barns filled with banter the children with glee.
They'll play the Pride of Erin and you'll dance with me.
Laughter and singing ring through the tree's
Come play me me an old fashioned song.

Bridge

The young men are nervous not know what to do.
They stand by the punch bowl and try to look cool.
Young ladies giggle as they wait their turn.
Come play me me an old fashioned song..

Bridge

Now the dancing is over its time to go home.
There will be some fond memories from folks that we know.
So hang up the fiddle and loosen the bow.
Come play me me an old fashioned song.

Hey Rob. Loved that. Sure is a great style and suits the old fashed feel of this one so well. Loved the harmonies too. Well done.

We always enjoying the way you write songs to so well fit a style...and this is no exception.

"The young men are nervous not know what to do.
They stand by the punch bowl and try to look cool.
Young ladies giggle as they wait their turn.
Come play me me an old fashioned song..'

And that bridge is outstanding!

Excellent vocal and production also.

Enjoyed this!

Rob,
you've really found your voice.
Pride of Erin- it wasn't more than a few years ago that I was teaching that to kids.

Hi Bob,

Listening to this waltz made me long to a glass of whiskey, although I don't drink that. It's that sphere you create.
I can only say 'again a good song out of your hands (and head)'. And repeat myself and others by saying you have a very clear mixing of your song. But... I (maybe) no longer say that your voice and harmony sound very good, because I always tell you so.

Nice work, Rob smile It's a lovely waltz and flows beautifully. Love the slow groove, and thought your vocals fit with the instrumentation perfectly. It sounds really full and the harmonies are on point.

Thanks for sharing!

Well done Rob, thank you for sharing this! This sounds very full and I dig the overall timbres. Thoroughly enjoyed the pedal steel to harmonize everything. Keep it up!
