According to this VST2 is a thing of the past and no VST2 software will be issued anymore. According to wikipedia "In September, 2013, Steinberg discontinued maintenance of the VST 2 SDK. In December, Steinberg stopped distributing the SDK.[9] The higher versions are continued."
Me, it's not about how many times you fail, it's about how many times you get back up. Cop, that's not how field sobriety tests work.

The quote is true but misleading and incomplete. Steinburg continued to support VST2 development for 5 years after initially announcing end of life in 2013.
The VST3 standard was first released in January, 2008. The standard is presently up to V3.6.13 +++ Steinburg VST Forum +++
For those that maybe wondering, "What is Ripchord", the heading for the video Mario links to states, "Ripchord is a free midi plugin for creating and remixing midi chord progressions"
And, VST 3 is what allows for multi client ASIO assuming you're using an interface with a true ASIO driver that supports that which most should by now. People post all the time that they run into errors if they're using a program for sound then open another one that also uses sound. ASIO4ALL won't do it unless that's changed lately.
I watched the video. I could see this being very useful for someone who knows music theory enough to construct chords and progressions, but has no facility on keyboard.

Tried to load today. There is a single .vst3 file. Reaper does not see it? Doesn't it need to be a .dll file?
A bit of Google fixed it...
VST3 has a hardcoded path. - I couldn't believe it at first as well. C:\Program Files (x86)\Common Files\VST3 for 32 Bit Plugins and C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3 for 64 Bit Plugins...
It seems Steinberg had one major goal with VST 3.x: "Annoy the hell out of users, devs and everybody else"... I think they reached their goal ;-)
Dan, all of my VST3s go to C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3. I have my DAW looking for VSTs in only three places,i.e. C:\Program Files\Common Files\VST3, C:\Program Files\VSTplugins and C:\Program Files(86)\VSTplugins. Note I have the 86 folder as some 64 bit VSTis insist on going there. I have no 32 bit programs on my music computer. Sometimes I have to redirect them to go where I want them. I find that using this system keeps all of my VSTs in one of three places and not scattered all over my HD. YMMV

I guess I should not be surprised. I seem to recall years ago that this type of stuff was available, but I never seemed to give it much mind. Until now. RipChord is ezypezy. Had it going in minutes in Reaper. I am certain I will find some utility in this type of application. I will look a bit more at the other offerings which Pipeline laid out if I find I need a specific feature which may be available.
Chordz, https://www.codefn42.com/chordz/ gets points for nice design and unique way of mapping single notes to harmonized chords and scales and also providing extensions within a scale. But the simplicity of Ripchord to design the chords as you want, makes it a keeper.
Actually, I think I will keep both. Had a lot of fun with both today. Next step to make some music with this new feature.

We're giving one Ripchord user a $25 Amazon gift card every week! .
In case you missed it, we started doing a weekly giveaway a few weeks ago, and it's crazy easy to enter. All you have to do is upload a Ripchord preset and you're in! You can find all the details here: https://trackbout.com/giveaway
So far user dafunk has won 3 weeks in a row, that's $75 bucks y'all, because he's literally the only person uploading presets! https://www.instagram.com/p/B3w72sdHHAs The odds of winning are high right now, get in there!
One guy with the only entries! For three weeks in a row! Have to do something about that. So I just wrote out the chord sequence to Samba Pa Ti for a very modest entry. Kind of fun for a guitar player to go figure out all the piano chord "shapes". Check it out over at the site and you may be a winner.
But I swear I must have been in the top 3! I think I will have to learn some Demi Lavato tunes to get the attention of the Judges. Still like this free app.
I downloaded Ripchord a few days ago and love it! However, I am running into two issues.
1) Is there any way to use Ripchord on stock FL Studio VSTs? I have no trouble assigning input and output on 3rd party VSTs, but am having trouble with the stock ones (eg: Sytrus, Harmless, etc...)
2) While switching between presets (or clicking anywhere in the VST skin) on any 3rd Party VST, the step sequencer automatically goes to that VST and only plays the single note from the midi controller / rather than the generated chords from Ripchord. The weird thing is that I have used Ripchord for several days now, and have only had this issue today.
Lol, Probably dumb questions with easy fixes, but any help would be very much appreciated!
