Ray,

Wow, nice work on this one—really well put together. It’s totally got a Bowie vibe to it. I was being lazy and listening to a few tunes on my laptop, but had to pull out the headphones for this one. They were worth getting up for! This totally rocks. Good stuff!

My best to you,

Deej

Well, Ray and friends - THAT IS SOMETHING !!! Very inventive, very creative, very well played and sung. Other folks have said it all - nothing I could add. A blast from start to finish. Amazing! And who am I to comment your sound and mixing job, Ray - you're the boss.

All the best,

Stefan

"In my stupor I shirk it,
Hold fragile serenity.
Decomposed adrenaline
Flavours my cup of tea
Touch up my mental makeup,
A sense of civility. "

Wow!

As Dave said "Man!!! This has to be one of the most creative songs I have ever heard on this site!"
Hard really to add to that as it says it all.

Two times through on the monitors and will play later on the "big" system but
even sans mastering this thing is HUGE.

The amount of thoughtful design/arrangement and mixing to pull this off must've been epic.

Reading the backstory made us realize very quickly that the way you produced this
is waaaaay above our production pay grade.

Rather than trying to parse out something this creatively complex we are better to just
kick back, turn it up and let it fill the room again.

Kudos to everybody who added their talent to this project!

Dear J&B,
You are very generous.
Perhaps the bombast will fade and leave not so much of value but for my part the recording was pretty quick & simple and wouldn't have happened without being able to construct a fab. RealDrums track.
Perhaps the most amusing thing in putting this together is that most of the ITB/Mixing work was required/happened in a week I had to work - called back from retirement again - so I was busy.
Thank you again for your kind comments.
The mastered version will be up this evening.

Cheers

Ray and everyone,

This is an incredible listen!!!!

So much imagination bursting forth in every aspect of this creation, arrangement, production... "mind boggling" is a phrase that popped into my head. And I mean that in the most complimentary way possible. Creativity is let loose and soars! Kudos to all involved.

Regards,
Noel

rayc,

I think that you are creating a completely new rock sound by fusing progressive rock and psychedelic sound.
The guitar and vocals are powerful and wonderful.
The chord progression and melody are very creative.
The sound effects of the intro and ending give this song further specialities.
Enjoyed my listen a lot.

Best regards.

Vocal control, you say. Never heard of it. Is that some kind of ProTools thing?

Thank you Shigeki Adachi,
The sonic template is Hawkwind around the Quark Strangeness & Charm LP which was in 1977 I think.
Anthony creat6ed the melody. All I did was the lyrics and progression - he had the hard work.
Thanks again.

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
