Hello Support & BAIB friends I have just installed BIAB from the hard disk to my laptop and installed the Xtra Styles PAK 6 and then did an update from the website. When I run it and tried to look at the Midi Monitor I got an error message from me AV software saying the .exe was infected with IDP.ALEXA.51 ? What's going on? Does anybody know.
Can't speak directly to his specific finding, but for perspective only: We see a message like this maybe a couple times a year here in the forum. Never have I ever seen one of these messages confirmed to be a real virus or problem in a BIAB download from their website. Good to let the folks know about this specific report. Sometimes some notification to a AV vendor can be done to eliminate re-occurrence.
Good advice above: contact PG Music Support on Monday and tell them what antivirus software you are using. You'll see their phone number above on the line with the PG Music logo. Also there is online chat. When calling, remember they are on the west coast of Canada, Pacific time.

Hello everyone The update was the very last update - I updated a few days ago - don't recall the Build No. I use AVAST AV the free version. I am aware of false positives - but looking into the threat the virus is supposed to have - I didn't want to risk it so - I put the offending .exe in the virus bin. So now when I try to run say the drum.exe of course BIAB says it's can't find it - so now what? Reinstall? Re update? Will I still get the same problem. Or should I just change free AV software?

Have had this false positive I believe in past from Avast, just create an exception in Avast settings to Biab and Rb folder and hey presto the problem goes away.
Due to other problems with Avast having to be disabled with Vacuum pro and Xpand 2 plugins and exceptions not being the answer I am less than impressed with Avast at the moment.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.
