This little some-thing-or-other genuinely came to me in a dream, if you'll believe that. And since I for once actually still remembered it once I was up, I made a demo with the core idea of the style/feel of it and the main line. You can find it HERE
Unfortunately that little excerpt is all I got, I woke up before ever getting to the rest of it! crazy

So I'd really appreciate if someone in here picks up the ball and runs with it. If anyone fancies, I can also provide the mgu and then, as long as they don't change what's already there, I say absolutely anything goes - Have fun!

p.s. There really ought to be some sort of a designated 'Collaborations' forum in here for this sort of thing, eh?

I really, really like it! Genuine question: why don't you give it a go at completing it, yourself? It sounds great so far and - if that's what you've dreamt, imagine what you could do with it in the "awake" state! :-) I think that I, personally, will leave it to others to "pick up the ball" as it is ... I don't want to ruin a beautiful beginning, haha. But would love to hear this developed - and, if I change my mind and the offer of the MGU is still open, I'd love - in that case - to take you up on it. Thanks for this beautiful little treat!

First of, thanks for the interest & positive feedback.

I had actually been sitting at this myself for a good while today before deciding to take this route and see what might come out of it.
I don't really regard that so much as giving up on the thing, but rather a chance to explore different ways of creating something, ways which I have often wanted to do before, I might add.

In short: The 'offer' still stands and if anything, the more takers the merrier cool

Thanks! I may, in that case, take you up on it after all ... we'll see. I don't want to ask for the file and then let it lie there for a while without actually doing anything with it ... it wouldn't be fair on anyone. But ... as I said, if things (i.e. my currently hellish schedule) free up a little, why not? It could be a very interesting adventure, so to speak, to see how it may spark my imagination. Thank you for sharing this :-)

In that respect I feel it may be good to note that it's not like this is a competition, you know. So even if you do pick it up, the door is very much still open, and if anything, more ideas by more takers would just make this all the more fun cool

I have got more than 10 song ideas in dreams, one just couple of days ago. They are usually quite simple snippets, which is good because when I'm awake I usually compose more complex melodies. Good that you remember it, because it is very good idea, not a simple one, definitely worth developing further. As such, could be used in an ad, for example, selling a relaxing spa weekend smile

Sure, I've dreamt my fair share of masterpieces over the years, all of which long gone from my head once I'm up and about. grin
But in other ways I seem to be your opposite, for in my wake I usually am quite the in-key traditionalist, and my melodies pretty simplistic (for better or worse), but as you pointed out, this one is "not a simple one"... so maybe I need to be asleep to get the rest of it to match up!? crazy

At any rate, I'm still offering it up for experimentations, by any and all that fancy, you included. Thanks for the feedback regardless smile

Glad you think so, but does that mean you fancy taking this one up yourself to play around with? I mean, you're one of my rare exceptions here in that you've actually 'reworked' something I started before, so I know already you're up to the task cool
Let me know and I'll send you a link to the draft file...

The Band-in-a-Box® Flash Drive Backup Option

Today (April 5) is National Flash Drive Day!

Did you know... not only can you download your Band-in-a-Box® Pro, MegaPAK, or PlusPAK purchase - you can also choose to add a flash drive backup copy with the installation files for only $15? It even comes with a Band-in-a-Box® keychain!

For the larger Band-in-a-Box® packages (UltraPAK, UltraPAK+, Audiophile Edition), the hard drive backup copy is available for only $25. This will include a preinstalled and ready to use program, along with your installation files.

Backup copies are offered during the checkout process on our website.

Already purchased your e-delivery version, and now you wish you had a backup copy? It's not too late! If your purchase was for the current version of Band-in-a-Box®, you can still reach out to our team directly to place your backup copy order!

Note: the Band-in-a-Box® keychain is only included with flash drive backup copies, and cannot be purchased separately.

Handy flash drive tip: Always try plugging in a USB device the wrong way first? If your flash drive (or other USB plug) doesn't have a symbol to indicate which way is up, look for the side with a seam on the metal connector (it only has a line across one side) - that's the side that either faces down or to the left, depending on your port placement.

Band-in-a-Box® 2024 Review: 4.75 out of 5 Stars!

If you're looking for a in-depth review of the newest Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows version, you'll definitely find it with Sound-Guy's latest review, Band-in-a-Box® 2024 for Windows Review: Incredible new capabilities to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs.

A few excerpts:
"The Tracks view is possibly the single most powerful addition in 2024 and opens up a new way to edit and generate accompaniments. Combined with the new MultiPicker Library Window, it makes BIAB nearly perfect as an 'intelligent' composer/arranger program."

"MIDI SuperTracks partial generation showing six variations – each time the section is generated it can be instantly auditioned, re-generated or backed out to a previous generation – and you can do this with any track type. This is MAJOR! This takes musical experimentation and honing an arrangement to a new level, and faster than ever."

"Band in a Box continues to be an expansive musical tool-set for both novice and experienced musicians to experiment, compose, arrange and mix songs, as well as an extensive educational resource. It is huge, with hundreds of functions, more than any one person is likely to ever use. Yet, so is any DAW that I have used. BIAB can do some things that no DAW does, and this year BIAB has more DAW-like functions than ever."
